Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Not bad, Simon.

I rather like the one Geoff told me to get, though. It has integral USB.

Only bad point is that it's powered off the laptop so if the lappie isn't connected to the mains, it's juice gets sucked big time.

Can you find the link to the one you told me to get, Geoff?

NO DEAL.

Tim | 8539 comments Nice price, but I only have USB2, so it'd be a bit pointless. Now if it had a firewire or thunderbolt connection, that'd be another matter...

Geoff (G. Robbins) (merda constat variat altitudo) (snibborg) | 8204 comments This is the one Patti purchased:

Unfortunately, although it is USB3 the lead is no longer integral to the unit and is just a separate wire. Still a good device, though.

Geoff (G. Robbins) (merda constat variat altitudo) (snibborg) | 8204 comments Oops! Sorry, that's the USB2, this is the USB3 one:

I like Buffalo as they have a 2 year warranty.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I dunno what that means. I just buy what Geoff tells me to. :)
