catherine some people hate finn . because they say he didn't fight for her. but i think it would of been the perfect ending if finn and wendy were together. he was there in book 1 unlike loki.

Steph Finn didn't fight for her, and that makes some mad because they wanted them together in the end and his stubbornness is the reason that didn't happen. I hated seeing his love for her show throughout the book, knowing she was getting over him and moving on, but he was still suffering to be with the woman he loves. They wouldn't have made a good match though- they're both too hard-headed and stubborn and neither would relent in a fight. It would be a disaster. It's ok though, she can keep Loki and I'll take Finn. lol

catherine lol. but finns with mia

Steph *sigh* Unfortunately... lol

Cas Loki he may be annoying but at least he cares!

Sarah I would rather have Loki,to bad he's with Wendy. I now suddenly hate Wendy.

message 7: by Kat (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kat LOKI!!!!!!!!!! finn has mia and hannah so ya and he was on and of with wendy so i sorta lost interest and loki is way more funny and tove just almost hates him because he isfrom Ondarike i think im looking of the book right now cause i havn't read it since last summer
hey and what about Duncan you gotta love Duncan! i also hate wendy she is such a cheater!

Sadie Scott i was in love with finn but the more i saw loki the more i fell in love with him too. sooo i really loved the ending and i thought it was perfect

Tina J I disliked Finn merely because he put his job before Wendy!
I get that he 'believed' he was doing what was best for her, but it shouldn't have mattered.
I'm the type of person who would fight for love, no matter the consequences, but duty came first for Finn.
And it irritated me how he kept pushing her away, and I could never really connect with Finn.

Loki didn't care either way. He could have been a tracker or a manks - he still would have pursued Wendy, because he truly loved her. Despite the knock-backs from Wendy, he continued to fight for her. And THAT'S what love is all about!

Loki is 10 times better hands down!
But I'm glad Finn got a happy ending!
;-)

pannams_t I love them both. The author is a genuis, she made happy endings for all of them. :)

Cassandra I always wanted her to be with Loki. He is the "bad boy" so to speak.

Kat has anyone read the short story 'the vittra attacks'? its right at the end of switched! i laughed so hard when loki and jen were fighting!

message 13: by Kat (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kat they were in the car and kyra was telling loki that he should have helped instead of wait in the car, then jen hits loki in the head behind him while hes driving away and loki slams on the brakes to make jen hit his head on the back of the seat, and curses at him......just to be more specific.

I like Loki !!

Sarah Dow LOKI all the way! his attitude is amussing and you can tell there in love while finn played one game of chess and in the end lost the girl because he was afraid to win. loki is just amazing... but finn.. needs to take a chance...

Libbie I'll tell you why I stopped reading Ascend at 51% and never looked back - because it's also the reason I prefer Finn.

The night *before* her wedding - Finn goes to Wendy and because he knows she has to marry, and not him, he offers her one night together and she UTTERLY GOES OFF ON HIM and summarily boots him from her life.

Flash forward. Wendy is *married* to Tove. Tove goes magic-insane and has to be locked in a room. And in the next room Wendy now offers THE SAME ONE NIGHTER to Loki and she's suddenly okay with that? ...say what??

Loki - who comes utterly out of nowhere, claiming to be in love with her and who's only strong character trait is "come on baby, you know you want me."

A reviewer on Amazon put it best. It's like Bella ditched Edward, skipped over Jacob, and married Mike Newton.

Libbie Samantha wrote: "I think it's horrible how many people don't care that Wendy became the biggest hypocrite ever in this book."

I can't tell you how refreshing it is to find at least one other person who feels the same way.

Finn took a chance...and he got slammed to the ground for it.

Libbie Samantha wrote: "I honestly could not finish the book after Wendy's horrible sex scene with Loki. Side note: does Amanda Hocking not know how to write a decent sex scene? Not that I'm huge on reading that kind of stuff, but it seems like all of her sex stuff is two paragraphs long and really awkward. Anyway, I loved Finn. I hate it when people get pissed off just because he put his duty ahead of what his heart wanted. Wendy did the exact same thing when she married Tove."

I turned off my Kindle (in effort to keep me from throwing it across the room), ranted about it in my blog, then deleted all three books off my amazon account entirely. I could NOT believe the hypocrisy of it.

I'm all for going a non-traditional route, for not doing what's expected, but for eff's sake at least make it believable.

Rachael I'm glad I'm not the only one who was disapointed by the ending. I loved Finn!

Julia Es I love Finn. Can't say anymore then that. Read first book and loved the chamistry between them, it was cute and romantic. There was that whole bit when Finn nearly died and Wnedy was like screaming. Well i guess Wendy has just forgotten how many times Finn saved her because now she's with stupid Loki. When i first came to his character i thought he was charming but also kinda creepy and also his name... thought that was going to be a give away by being the name of a evil god from the norse gods. BUT omg! Wendy and Finn should have gotten together, hands down thats what i wanted. And now i just can't read the last book knowing they won't get togther and reading the second book felt like i was hit by a truck. This is going to be stuck in my head for days, that Wendy and Finn didn't end up together.

Jennifer Moreno TEAM FINN FOREVER ♥

Sarah Jenyfer wrote: "TEAM FINN FOREVER ♥"

Agreed. Exactly the as me!

Alexandra Mkay, first of all for all you Finn lovers, he doesn't deserve Wendy. Countless times, she would give him chances to make his true feelings known. He would start making out with her and then act like it was all part of his job. Then, of course, the night before she gets married, he comes and tells her he loves her. And he knows that the marriage is crucial for the kingdom.

He just causes her heartbreak for the first two and the beginning of the third book. Loki comes in and she's finally found someone who isn't afraid to show his true feelings for her. So in the end, Finn only caused her to find her real true love. So, he wasn't completely pointless. :)

Sorry, but I still can't abide hypocrites and that's just what Wendy became when she offered Loki the same offer she threw in Finn's face.

Danielle M I didn't like that she ended up with Loki. I was so in love with Finn throughout all 3 books, but I guess as long as he ended up with someone. But I still wish she was with Finn.

message 28: by Luna (new) - rated it 5 stars

Luna -Girl Of Amethyst Loki cause he really fought for her and I just thought they were perfect for each other :)

Emily Mckenna Finn is really nice and so is Loki, at first i couldn't decide but when I thought about Loki was fighting for her and would also join the vittra and trylle if they got married. whereas Finn didn't do anything to keep her. So Loki would be perfect for Wendy

message 30: by T (new) - rated it 2 stars

T Finn.
The whole "thing" with Finn not fighting for her was trumped up. She had to stretch to make a story
out of that. He was desperately in love with her. His love for her was deep and true. She (the author)built us up with this relationship and then let us down.

Girl, you said it best. That was some foolishness. I was totally disappointed. It made no sense. I didn't finish the book either.I went a little further, and I checked to see if there was ANY resolution with Finn (there was, but it was pretty minimal). But pawning Mia off on him pissed me off. And I saw it coming from the moment Wendy "noticed" her. That's when I had my first inkling that things might not actually work out with Finn in the end. Truly disgusted.

Team Jack Townsend Look guys, I understand how you all love Finn. I loved him too in the beginning! But ever since the ending where you meet Loki, I fell in love with Loki. He was really awesome and funny! There was a part in the third book where Wendy says to Finn that she never could have truly made him happy, they would always be fighting and they just weren't meant to be together. That this was better, and you know what? She was right! Finn kept going on and off with their little "relationship" he was so bi-polar when it came to Wendy. In the end of the Torn there was this little extra story and when it was on Finn's point of view he even said that he did not understand why he had feelings for her! Admittedly, he cared about her but so did Loki, Loki fell head over heels for her from the first moment they met, it was love at first sight, I don't get why people don't get that. Finn was soo much happier with Mia and Hannah then he ever would have been with Wendy, so why can't you all just be happy that their happy together? It's better this way and they both know it. So just be happy for them. Okay? Thanks for listening to me :)

We didn't have any indication that Finn was so much happier with Mia other than the author stating it in order to make the relationship with Loki more palatable. It was as predictable as pie. Once Wendy came across Mia and Hannah sitting there shell-shocked after the attack, it was clear that the author was going to make her Finn's new love interest. I was surprised at how little time she gave to it in the epilogue. It was a brief mention, so that people could feel happy for Finn, which is just plain silly. As a reader, I wasn't wanting to feel "happy" for anyone so much as wanting to see the people who she created the story around end up together after working out their difficulties.

Personally, it's not so much a matter of me loving Finn. I just don't like Wendy with Loki. Too much time was spent developing the relationship between Finn and Wendy. Loki was nice enough, and he did have feelings for her, but the development of the love triangle and its conclusion was just sloppy.

Mikaela I liked that it ended where Wendy ended up with Loki, I remember thinking "Well this is going to be another predictable ending." But it was not. It was a nice to stray from the norm.

LOKI ALL THE WAY. He's so passionate and determined. O freaking love him. Finn was such a jerk to Wendy. If he really did love he, just because she was royal and he wasn't doesn't mean he shouldn't have atleast tried to be with her.

Mandarie I liked both in the beginning but Finn was so back and forth all the time that you really didnt know what he wanted. but Im glad he ended up with the other girl and Wendy has Loki. I think hes better all around for her. He fought for her and gave up a lot for her. They are great together!
