I should (hopefully) be moving to NYC soon from Chicago, so I would love if one was already set up for me to meet people in the city! :)Also, if anyone knows a museum hiring.....shoot me a msg!
I live in Westchester, but I work in the city. I'd be up for a hangout!
I'm in Brooklyn and would love to do a meetup! I work retail so I'm not free until 8:30 or nine most nights except Friday and Sunday. I don't know if anyone has an idea for any good places - a Starbucks/other coffee shop or a quieter bar might work. Starbucks is probably easier to find in a central location than an uncrowded, not too pricey bar.
I just started exploring the Vaginal Fantasy page. I live in Manhattan. I'd definitely be up for a local meetup!

Has anyone been to the Way Station in Brooklyn? I haven't, but I heard it has a TARDIS.

I live and work in Midtown. Still new to the city and a bit reserved so I haven't explored much but I'm honestly surprised there isn't a group already!

I don't think there has been a meet up yet. I'm new to Manhattan, so I'm up for meeting, but pretty low on ideas for places to meet.
I'm out in Suffolk County but would travel into the city for a VF hangout!
There is this great tea house on University Place and 11th Street in Manhattan called Argo that I think would be a great place to meet up. I have been there at least twice and I enjoy it. Maybe there?
Argo sounds nice, Danielle, especially being so close to a nice commuting hub like Union Square. What date and time work particularly well for everyone?
Any day but Tuesdays and Thursdays are good for me.
I have a knitting group that sometimes meets at that Argo tea! It is nice, but can sometimes be crowded, especially Friday afternoons with college back in session. Mondays and Fridays are good for me!
Fridays sound good. Really anything except Monday thru Wednesday. The week gets busy. :)Should we plan to meet for next months book selection? Maybe we can ask Felicia for a quick shout out during the poison study/master of crows ep for ppl who do not read the forums.

Argo Tea seems to be the best place as it is close to Union Square which is a major MTA hub. I am free after 3pm on Fridays and can be at Argo by 430pm.
I'd like to suggest 6pm to account for those of us who work day jobs. Buy other than that, I'd love to swing by!

Hi everyone, this is one of Danielle's friends. Unfortunately, she will not be able to attend the meetup on Friday due to the storm aftermath. Her family is fine, but they are still without power. Those that are able to make it out are welcome to do so.
I am fine with postponing it until next week or later so Danielle and more people can be there. I heard that most of Lower Manhattan is not expected to have power until Friday or Saturday, so our meet up location may not be open.What do you all think?
I think postponing is a good idea. With limited transportation and no power in the area, we might not have a place to sit if we could even make it there!Shall we try for the same time next Friday? That will give us some time to get started on the current books as well.

Hey everyone! I finally got power back tonight. Thanks to Michael for posting for me. Yes postponing is an excellent idea as I still have no way to get into NYC yet but can we postpone to possibly November 17th which is a Saturday? I will be away next week. Let me know all!~Danielle
As long as I have train service (poor G/L lines!) by then, I'm in! Doing the bus to walk to train route for work is killing me :(What time is everyone thinking?

That works for me! I am wondering if someone who works in the Union Square area could make sure that Argo is open. I would not want everyone to head down there and it is still closed.
Just a note - when I was visiting and checking out Brooklyn (my future home!) I discovered the Way Station and it is AMAZING. And the regulars in there are super nice. The TARDIS is the bathroom and Matt Smith and Karen Gilliam actually autographed it inside. It was a bit loud when I was there but it was at night - so perhaps in the afternoon it would be a good meet up place. I'd highly recommend it. And get the Captain Jack specialty drink!
Hope to be there sooner rather than later and meet everyone.
I can try and head over there after work on Friday and make sure they're back open, though I think most everything is back to normal. And hey, that will put me near Strand and I'll have to go see what's new there!
Thank you Claire! So ladies the time is upon us to have our first meet up! I will try and get there by 2pm but with a cane and my legs, I might be late. I have rheumatoid arthritis if that means anything. If someone does get there before me, please find a table and make a sign that says NYC Vaginal Fantasy. If I do get there before everyone, I will be wearing a leopard sweater and have a flowery cane with me. See you ladies tomorrow!
I requested that our December meetup be posted in the group events (you need a mod's permission) but I'll post the info here too:Saturday, December 8th at 2pm! Argo Tea on University and 11th, near Union Square. We'll talk about the December picks, review the November picks and anything else that comes to mind!
