Need help with a series from the 70's and 80's

Just looking to see if someone can help me out, I remember as a kid from the 70's and 80's a book series that my school library had tons of different entries of. I believe many were sci fi and others were somewhat fantasy but the focus was on how the reader decided what would happen next by answering a question from 2 or 3 provided potential outcomes which would dictate what page you would turn to depending on what you chose. Can anyone remember the name of that series. There may have been multiple series out there. Any help is appreciated.

If you look up "choose your own adventure" you might find them. I remember reading those too but not who published them or what they were called or anything. But they are generally called that.
