Alex (acobaf) Quinn is a 32 year old wife, mother, nurse, and writer, not necessarily in that order. She lives in beautiful North West Arkansas with her husband, son and Nora their Doberman pinscher. She loves writing, reading, and crocheting. Her favorite holiday is Christmas, favorite book(s) is Pride and Prejudice, The Alpha and Omega Series by Patricia Briggs, and the Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling. She loves to be silly and have fun, loves music and thinks there is no greater sound in the world than that of her little boy's laughter.

***Thanks Quinn for the interview and the giveaway! Guess we will just jump right in, when did you first know you wanted to be a writer?

Quinn- I actually knew when I was in elementary school. I've always loved to write and it's something that has always come easily to me. I didn't pursue it because I had the mentality of what are the chances of me ever being successful.

***Tell us about The Grey Wolves series. Where did you come up with the idea behind the series?

Quinn- The Grey Wolves Series is about the Romanian Grey Wolves, which are werewolves. They have a history of how they were created and why. One of the most important things in a Grey wolfs life is finding his true mate. My series begins with one of the Grey Wolves going to the U.S. as an exchange student. He stays with a family across the street from a high school girl who winds up being his true mate. Prince of Wolves is book 1 of the series and is the story of the teenage werewolf who is the son of the most powerful Alpha in history and so his people call the son the Prince of the Romanian Grey's. The female lead in this book also has two best friends who travel through this journey with her and have their own stories develop. It's exciting, intense, romantic, emotional, funny, and full of Alpha males and the girls who put up with them.

***Do you have any advice for budding writers?

Quinn- Don't get discouraged. Just keep writing. Learn from your critics. When you need help seek out help from other Indie authors. The indie community is amazing and so supportive of each other.

***And my final question is if you could be any mythical creature, what would you be and why?

Quinn- Hmm, a Fae or a werewolf. Fae because they are portrayed as beautiful, intelligent and a little eccentric. Werewolf because they are just cool. They have strong family units. Loyal friends and mates.

Alright guys! Your turn to talk to Mrs. Quinn! Remember this thread stays open for the month of August while we read her first book Prince of Wolves.

Toni | 73 comments First off I LOVE this series!! My question is who are you more like in the series.. Jaq, Jen, or Sally.. I love Jen's spunk!

I'm really a mix of Jen and Jacque. In the books I think with all Jen's outlandish comments I live vicariously through her. Lol

I am actually writing the outline for my new series now.

L.P. Dover | 70 comments Are you going to continue writing about wolves or are you going to change it up and do something else? By the way, your boooks are awesome and I know I've told you that millions of times on facebook as well. I'm a total Quinn Loftis groupie :)

Hey Leslie, I feel like you are an old friend ;) I am going to change up my next series. I will be putting up a synopsis for the first book on my site soon. It's still Paranormal YA, but not WW

Harriet I think I will read anything you write after this series, its been so good! But can you give any info about the next paranormal series at all? I'm going to be so sad when these books are over, it breaks my heart to even think about leaving these girls behind!

Lindsay | 1 comments I am an incoming Freshman, and I really love to write, although I am quite embarassed by it when someone finds out that I do write. I was wondering if that ever happened to you while you were in school, and if it did happen what you would do to not feel so embarassed.

I will tell you that it has hot elves in it...and it's a little different in who our "hero" is, kind of a twist on what we all consider a hero should be but sometimes they are totally what we don't expect.

It is going to be very hard. I have grown to love these characters! There will be 7 in this series. The 7th book will be Vasile and Alina's story

Quinn Loftis (goodreadscomquinn_loftis_books) | 41 comments Alexandra wrote: "Quinn, when you write do you have an special things you do like music, snacks a lucky rabbits foot?"

I always have my iphone with headphones and listen to music. I'm always looking for new music so if you have any suggestions please pass them on. I always have coca cola as well.

I think that it's great that you are writing. If it's what you love then don't be embarrassed. I will tell you that sometimes as a 32 year old wife and mother, when I tell people I write YA Paranormal romance I get embarrassed as well, but then I think, you know I'm doing what I love, how many people can say that about their lives. Hold your head high chick, it takes guts to be a writer. To put yourself out there for everyone to see. I think it takes more guts to write than to act. It's so much easier for people to rip apart a book and chew you up. Don't let them keep you down though ok? I get bad reviews all the time and I try to read some of them, but when they start getting me down i step away. I wish you all the best! Feel free to contact me anytime if you need encouragement :)

Blujeanbooks96 (wwwgoodreadscomblujean_books96) | 109 comments Hi :) What was your inspiration to write the Grey Wolves series? I understand you have already been asked where you came up with the idea of the series, but I'm asking more about what lead you to that idea.
I was also wondering how you write the werewolves so well. As you said earlier, the werewolves have strong family dynamics and you write them so well :) Did you find this difficult or easy? Did you have to do a lot of research?
And finally (if I have not bombarded you already) Do you have short works you have written prior to the Grey Wolves series? :) Thankyou

Quinn Loftis (goodreadscomquinn_loftis_books) | 41 comments Blujeanbooks96 wrote: "Hi :) What was your inspiration to write the Grey Wolves series? I understand you have already been asked where you came up with the idea of the series, but I'm asking more about what lead you to t..."

Thank you for the great questions! First off, what led me to the idea. Well honestly (and i know how crazy this sounds) when I sat down to write POW all I knew was that I wanted it to be about werewolves and that I wanted it to have a dynamic cast of characters. I really had no clue the direction it would go until I started writing. I didn't have an outline or anything. The first thing I did was figure out the main characters name (Jacque) and then I thought okay, I don't want these wolves to be from the states, so I researched wolves and found the Grey wolves. They are on several different continents. I went with Romania because it is so rick in folk lore and mystery. Part of the reason I chose werewolves was because of Patricia Briggs, Mercy Thompson Series. It isn't young adult but it's a wonderful series. Even though it is adult it doesn't have the explicit content.
Family dynamics- I think I get this some from reading so many werewolf books and just naturally in my head combining aspects from those stories that I really liked and I just love the idea of the supportive family. I think it's great for young girls to see the importance of having a group of people who love you for you and who will show you tough love when you need it. It wasn't difficult for me to incorporate it, maybe because I've been in churches where the philosophy is it takes a village to raise a child. The mentality of we aren't islands, we were designed by God to be alone. And that is exemplified in how we are always looking for something to be a part of. Especially in high school where you don't want to be on the outside looking in.
I don't have any short stories (oddly enough) I use to write a lot of poetry. POW was my first ever story.
Than you so much for your questions and thank you for reading my books!

Alex (acobaf) When you first published you book how did you go about doing it? When did you say "I can do this" and also what do your family and friends say... I'm mean your an accomplished writer now with a huge set of fans. Also can you PLEASE come to Colorado and do a signing!!! :)

I did all my publishing online with Kindle Direct Publishing through Amazon and through Pubit which is Barnes and Noble. I also have done books 1-3 on smashwords.com it's all very user friendly. The hardest part about it editing and finding a good cover artist that is reasonably priced.
It took me a year from the time I wrote Prince of Wolves to when I published it. I was terrified of failure, and of critics. My family thankfully is very, very supportive and that has helped make this journey easier. My husband is amazing and does everything he can to help me succeed.
Thank you so much! I don't see myself the way you guys do. I mean I'm so thankful for the all the amazing success and all the support. But to me I'm just me. I wrote some books that I really hope people like, but sometimes I think I can do better. I want to be better so that you all get the best possible book. I know that not everyone will like my books, that just isn't realistic, but I do want to have the people who do read my books think that when they have finished them that they have not wasted their time.
I would love to come to Colorado, and maybe I will be able to in the future :) Thank you so much for your questions and for taking time to read my books!

I think that if it's something you really enjoy and are serious about then you need to continue to pursue it. You get better as a writer by writing. Even if you don't publish anything write now, the more practice you get the better you will be. Don't get discouraged and don't let others tell you that you won't be a success. You can succeed at what ever you pour your heart into. I wish that I had started writing novels when I was younger. I'm 32 now and having to learn so many new things. Just remember you will always be growing and learning as an author. Never think you have arrived, that will be the day that your career is over. Keep learning, keep writing, keep seeking out other authors who can give you tips and don't let other's negativity affect you. I wish you all the best in your writing!

Thankyou so very much for answering my questions :) It was brilliant and really interesting!! :) P.s I have heard/read about the Mercy Thompson series :)

Just, out of interest, because you said that you just 'wanted to write something about werewolves with a dynamic cast of characters', do you feel that the most important aspect of the books is the characters? or perhaps the family dynamics? or do you think that all the aspects play their own role? :)

I think it's a mixture of both. Because of the affectionate nature of the werewolves and their protective nature, it makes it all work.

Quinn Loftis (goodreadscomquinn_loftis_books) | 41 comments Blujeanbooks96 wrote: "Ohhh a new series! *squee moment*... I just HAVE to ask, does your new series involve a different species of paranormal?"

Hot Elves ;) a girl whose not sure who to trust and her best friend who believes in the supernatural, but now has to convince her friend to believe as well. I think it's going to be a lot of fun.

Absolutely love love love the books so far!! I have my friends and family reading them and they are hooked as well!! Have you ever thought, if approached, you would make the books into a movie?

Karina Bailey | 2 comments Hey, I just wanted to let you know that your books are loved in Australia, I got all my book buddies onto them and they absolutely adore them just like I do! But I also wanted to ask you a little question~ I just turned fourteen and finished writing my first ever novel *yay!* my friends and a teacher of mine have read it and they all loved it, they want me to publish it(as do i) but I'm not sure if publishes would disregard my writing because of my age. so, do you think i should start looking for publishers to publish my book or wait a couple of years when they might take a bit more notice of my work?
