I just finishes Devoted in Death. I just loved it. I wont say more for those who haven't read it yet. :)
I can't wait for our buddy reads to start again in Jan. We have a great mixture of both new & rereaders joining in. It's going to be so much fun!

It does sound daunting...but honestly, I was surprised how fast our last buddy read of the complete series went by. While the books are great to read alone, it's just more fun to read & discuss them with others. Even after reading them several times, I'm still surprised by points that others will bring up - seems there's always something new to discover! Really glad you're joining in, Namz.
The Buddy read Starts again in January? I' m at number 32 :Treachery in Death
I Look forward to starting again with You!!!Reading Alone was no fun!
Yay Ness!! Yes, we're starting a new buddy read of the series in Jan. Happy to hear you'll join us!

I'm on the audio of Divided in Death and was quite thrown, no, really thrown on hearing the name of that horrid excuse for a human being (view spoiler).Brilliant timing, just another reason why she's considered a world class author. Can I fangirl any more than I already do?
I just finished Festive in Death for the 3rd time and New York to Dallas. Just started Celebrity in Death. Need a breather with this book after all the angst in Dallas Texas.

I'm reading Innocent in Death again. As Eve once said about Roarke, he can be stupid. Boy is he clueless for most of this book. How would he like someone to come up to Eve call her lover, stroke her arm and make eyes at her? Magdalena is so obvious it just shows how clueless men can be about certain women, even Roarke.

The one time it DID happen, he didn't handle it so well:)

It's the longest series I've ever read - and reread! And we're starting it all over again with a group buddy read in January. It will be my 3rd time reading the entire series. I've read certain books numerous more times than that.

Does it happen again at all? Where Roarke has to deal with jealousy?
I'm listening to audio of Visions and really enjoying all the fun they're having: RxE's reaction to Mavis baby request; Peabody and Eve's interactions....

Not as dramatically:)

I would like for another of Eve's "stress reducers" to show up and make a move on Eve like Webster. He would have moved away years ago but when he visits New York and stops by to say hello to everyone he realizes he still has feelings for her and gets himself worked up over her marrying that "rich Irish bastard" I don't think Roarke would like it very much.

My mom was reading the series long before I got into them. She fianlly convinced me to read them and I fell in love. I have been jumping around the series. (Not something I ever do.) The last one I read wad Vengance In Death.
Smart Mom you've got, Patrickl! I do recommend reading them in order because of the character development in this series.
This is one series I would advise not to jump around. (Unless, of course, you've already read through it and want to visit a favorite scene.)
I've been to several book stores in my area, and when I go in I try to force myself that if they don't have the books I need I'll go online. Then I buy whatever In Death books they have, and can't resist reading them.
I'm listening to Kindred in Death again. I have read it twice and this is my 3rd listen through. This is another hard read because of the torture rape of a cop's daughter. After I had read them all I tended to skip around some of them.I will be reading Naked in Death next month for maybe the 4th time? I get mixed up as I am always grabbing one from my collection and I think I have listened to it more than that.
I do the same after having read the entire series twice. I have no idea how many times I've read the first 3 books - numerous times...plus some of my other favorites. But for first time readers, I think it's so important to read in order if you can.

That is so true. I actually notice I am reading much slower now due to the inevitable.
I really think it is a must to start from the beginning. People who start in the middle seem to have a hard time accepting Eve's behavior and can't understand how these two ever got together in the first place. The first 3 books are a must if you want to read the entire series.
I'm pretty in the beginning:The first four books I finished within five weeks and was completely hooked. I was really lucky all were just available in the library when I wanted to read them - I had never to wait longer than three days for my ebook licence :-)
Then two weeks ago I got
and almost gave up. And it wasn't because the book wasn't good only due to my personal difficulties from the past with occultism.Last week I got the notification I'm in line for book 7:
- three weeks earlier than planned and before I got book 6 - though I've seen if I don't grab it and pre-order it again it will be available again sometime in March :-(Today came the notification I can have
(book 6) so the world is fine again and I hope I like these two much better again :-)

Juggling library requests can be quite the challenge. I'm glad it's worked out in the end because reading the series in order makes the experience so much better.

Yes it does, it's even better if you get the audiobooks. When an "In Death" comes out, I always know what I'm going to be using my Audible credit for.
I'm starting the series over - probably with a combination of Kindle version & audio. It's been awhile since I could say I'm reading book 1! lol
Ditto Kris! I mentioned in the BR thread that it was a "thrill" reading about the first mention of Roarke again! lol
