message 752: by donna (new)

donna (donnahag) | 51 comments So I was going to read a James Patterson Alex Cross book but couldn't get into it because I kept wondering what was in store for Eve and Roarke! I am totally hooked. I am now on "Vengence in Death" looking forward to it

I think we're all hopelessly hooked Donna! But it's a good way to be.

Vengeance is a favorite of mine...although, as I've said before, I can't list my top 5 In Death books. There are just too many books, too many that are really "special"...I can name ones that stand out in my mind but not definitely say "These are my top 5".

message 756: by Gabrielle (new)

Gabrielle | 181 comments how many books in this series

Penni | 816 comments Gabrielle wrote: "how many books in this series"

Wayyy too many :-) I try not to look at the count. I'm on #11 (I think - Witness in Death) right now.

Vengeance was one of my faves also.

message 758: by Quynh (new)

Quynh (quynh_o) | 1269 comments Witness is great. Loved the scene where Roarke had to grovel a bit. ;)

I agree. I usually read 4-5 of the In Death books in a row, the read several (10 or so) other books. They I start the cycle all over again. This works for me, get my Eve/Roarke and the other fix, but I'm not yet near the end of series. I don't know how I'm going to handle waiting for new books in the series when I do get to the current end. I can't go that long without my "fix". LOL

Gabrielle, I highly recommend you plan on reading Midnight in Death immediately after reading Holiday. They are closely connected.

message 766: by ✿~Danielle~✿ (new)

✿~Danielle~✿ (dmh1) I'm up-to date with reading them. I listening to Thankless in death and I'm a bit sad that I have only one book left of audio after this one. I won't know what to do with my self, when I done with my listening reread.

message 771: by Dee (new)

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 1070 comments First of all I better say I have read this series about 5 or 6 times. So after reading Reunion I jumped ahead and read Purity, then Portrait. Now I just finished Naked and starting Glory.

message 772: by Sandra (new)

Sandra Hoover (sandrahoover) | 11212 comments Mod
I'm sure that works fine for you after reading them all 5 or 6 times, Dee. You can jump around and choose some favorites to reread! :)

Ahhh Magdalena...a bit manipulative, isn't she? Knows exactly what she's doing!

message 776: by Randi (new)

Randi | 93 comments I just finished Visions in Death (In Death, #19) by J.D. Robb and once again, it was fabulous. The case was great, and (view spoiler)

Love your reflections, Randi. They're spot on.

message 779: by Jonetta (new)

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 15057 comments Mod
That's why we recommend Holiday and Midnight be read back to back.

message 780: by Tarri (new)

Tarri I just finished listening to Portrait in Death this morning and it is my favorite so far (with Survivor being a close second). The think I loved about it was when Roarke found out and met his relatives. Quite frankly, that part of the book was better than the case part.

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 15057 comments Mod

message 784: by Paula (last edited Jul 15, 2014 06:46AM) (new)

Paula | 245 comments Just finished Loyalty in Death. Wow. Really sad near the end.I love this book. Oh my gosh, can Roarke get any better. I had already loved him more than any other hero, but my love and admiration keep growing with each book. He can do no wrong in my eyes. I am now on the Eve bandwagon because of this book. My feelings for her fluctuate at times, but I really loved her in this book. She has come a long way baby. In this book she has a connection with Roarke that is long overdue and she is softer yet confident and assertive. She is also understanding and human. Yea Eve. Peabody and McNabb were great as well. This book was not only about Eve, but included bits about all the major characters and I loved that. Sad and Sweet is my description. On to the next in the series.

Colleen, I'm actually dying to get to that one. I just checked last night how many more I need to read in order to get to that one and I am so behind. It sounds very interesting.

Still listening to (Imitation in Death and Remember When). Halfway through Imitation and now that I have the audiobook to listen to as I read my library copy of Remember When, about 9 chapters in there. The RW audiobook is amazing.
