Amazing but does anybody understand this book??

Ok, so I get that it's supposed to be an attack on celebrity culture blah blah blah..but did it actually make any sense to anyone?? This book is hands down one of the best books I've ever read and was thoroughly excited to see something that didn't hold back in terms of 'the darkness behind the glamour' and not in a devil wears prada sort of way where everyone is just nasty but in a definite dark and downright creepy way), bisexual porn scenes and conspiracies. At first I thought the book was horrible and like many other people, kept putting it down and had to force myself to pick it up again. When I was about 200 pages in (RIGHT before they opened the big club) I actually came online to see if it was even worth it to keep reading. Although I managed to stay away from major spoilers (aside from brief mention about a bisexual sex scene and an airline 'mishap') I found out that most people were downright mortified, so I obviously had to keep reading. I'm glad I did because literally 3 or 4 pages after i looked it up, it started to get amazing and continued that way (for the most part) until the end and like I said, is hands down one of the best books I've ever read (knowing bisexual porn was coming didn't hurt either). That being said, and true, still doesn't remove the fact that I am still very confused. For example;
I have ascertained that the French film crew was, in actuality (although it is impossible to be certain), the terrorist group that is funding them and telling them what to do. The biggest reason I think this is because Victor notes that the 'director' didn't have a french accent as well as the fact that they're constantly telling the models what to do, but who the hell are the other film crew?
At first I believed this to simply be Victor's disassociation from reality where he consciously or subconsciously replaces what is happening around him with what he wants to happen (eg being in a movie is the biggest goal even when he is still in the modelling world). Also because these 'disassociations' seem to increase in inertia after he starts to think something is seriously wrong, climaxing when he discovers what that something is. At first when he walks into the basement, he believes the person on the torture chamber table is a 'badly made' mannequin, and after that pivotal scene, he begins to severely lose touch with reality and time altogether. BUT...what is with all the camera's and the other people mentioning something about the film crew (other people do in fact mention both crews).
Secondly, what actually happened to Bruce?? Bentley said that Bruce tied him up with bombs just before he was blown up. Does this mean that Bruce's death was faked? (it would seem not, as bobby killed everyone else, so why leave Bruce) and it could also be due to the fact that nobody seems to definitively know who is who, but then why put that in there? Same goes for Sam Ho...
Thirdly, what is with all the confetti, rooms constantly being cold and the smell of shit everywhere?? I have a sneaking suspicion that this last one is Victors symbolic awareness that everything around him is actually nothing more than shit and not what he thought it was but the other ones still don't make sense.
Fourth, Is there another Victor and who the hell were those guys in part 6 that attacked him in his bedroom?? Was this supposed to suggest (as it was a flashback) that he has always been fully aware of what was going on but decided (like I have already speculated) to block it out of his mind and deliberately delude himself? In this flashback section, he did mention going to milan and getting into serious trouble although he didn't say what..
Fifth, Who the fuck is Eva/Lauren? Are they the same person or has she changed her identity? Or was Lauren merely a figment of Victors imagination and Eva was the person he projected this onto? I have no idea, same goes for Victor #2 at his sisters place.
All in all, Amazing book but it is DEFINITELY NOT for everyone. In fact, I'm not sure who I could even recommend it to that wouldn't be mortified or bored by the never ending naming, label throwing and vacuous commentary. If anyone has any answers to any of those questions (or probably guesses seeing as it seems things were deliberately made quite vague) it would be severely appreciated!

eva is the woman pretending to be lauren. i think palakon tells victor lauren died in '87. jaime also tells victor shes not really jaime fields before she dies in that plastic bag. Bruce was probably replaced by a look-a-like, and maybe Bruce 2 was loyal to Bobby. The "flashback section" isnt a flashback, one of the firms that Palakon is working for has replaced Victor thats why Chloe and Skipper or whatever think theyve seen him in New York. Ultimately victor's dad had victor sent away permenantly and replaced with a lookalike so he could run for president. this was accomplished thru the assistance of japanese investors who had palakon run the whole thing

Marie Yes, exactly. But @dijimon, who were the film crews?

I apologize in advance, as I have little answers to give other than one simple observation. I'm not really sure if the meaning of the text should be or can be derived from the machinations of the plot. That is to say that even without coherence of plot, the meaning of the text should come through. It sounds like you've got a good handle on a meaning of the text, so why bother fret over details? You might be missing the forest for the trees if you overly focus on how the plot works. It's not an airport thriller designed to be a tight puzzle box. Rather, it's a glimpse at the lives behind the masks of celebrity.
