Does anyone like rowing poetry?I wrote this for my most recent book. I'd love to share it with you.
BOAT CREW
Feel the rhythm;
stay in time;
pull the oars,
and keep the line.
Faster, faster,
breathe! Respire!
Arms are aching,
lungs on fire.
Pull and pull;
ignore the pain;
edging past
each boat again.
Closer, closer
comes the line,
muscles burning,
aching spine.
Crowds all scream;
the push is on;
pull the oars;
stay fast;
stay strong!
Pain engulfs us;
we are done!
Joy explodes
for we have won!
