message 115: by Martha (new)

Martha Dunlop | 9 comments I would love to be able to read Twilight again, it was just so compulsive. Also Harry Potter (not being very original here). But also The Catch Trap, which isn't paranormal but is an incredible and compulsive novel about trapeze artists. It's a brick of a book, but I read it in 3 days then started straight back at the beginning, haha!

message 116: by Barb (new)

Barb | 88 comments I agree with you Martha. Twilight is a story I would really like to read again because of the way the author writes. I loved all the internal thinking going on with Bella. Do not like the movie though.

Have you read the Host by Stephanie Meyers? Great book, too, though it is nothing like twilight.

message 119: by Barb (new)

Barb | 88 comments I did read the Host and I liked that book better than the movie as well. I just like how Stephanie Meyers writes.

message 120: by Nette (new)

Nette | 3 comments Barb wrote: "I did read the Host and I liked that book better than the movie as well. I just like how Stephanie Meyers writes."

She is an awesome author. She never lacks in detail with her books. It's as though you're with the characters in the books. Though I liked the movie Twilight, I didn't care for the movie the Host. Neither movie had as much detail as the books which is typical.

message 133: by [deleted user] (new)

Stephen King's 'The Dark Tower' series has a certain magic that I adore. I've been rationing them, only reading 1-2 per year, but I'm still afraid that I won't be able to fall so completely into the world again if I were to every read them through again.

It's alright, though. I still have three instalments to go. (He tells himself with panicked breathing.)
