I'm too ashamed to say ☺ No, not really. Gosh, I don't know. Maybe some of those erotic scifi books I read every now and then.

I am ashamed of my tendency to watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta and The Bad Girls Club (ducks head). But I don't feel any shame for my reading tastes.
After twenty plus years of being made fun of for loving romance novels, I own my reading tastes. I'm a serious Harlequin romance junkie and proud!

Seems to me if I was really ashamed I'd never post em here on GRs and no one would ever know. hehe.
I love the Harlequin Intrigue books...some more than others naturally. And what can I say I am hooked on Diana Palmer's "Long Tall Texans" books...

Read one and want to read the rest ☺

I have to admit that a few years ago I would have been ashamed to admit that I read Erotica of any kind, but now I don't care. If people don't like it, well that's their problem not mine.

Huge Diana Palmer fan. I love that grand lady!

Lol, I love those alien sci-fi erotics! As for me... I don't know that I'm ashamed of any of the actual books I read, but rather, it can get a tad uncomfortable stating the title when asked what I'm reading...
For example this made me think of my nephew... I was on the phone with him and he asked what I'd been doing I replied "reading". To which he then asked the name of the book... "Passion Unleashed" -- He's twelve so it was a tad embarrassing but it could have been a worse one lol.

Me too Lady D!
Dorsey wrote: "BTW.....Pamela SiFi Erotica hmmmm....I have yet to read any but now I'm curios."The best was Lora Leigh's contribution to an Ellora's Cave anthology,
I used to conceal my preference for erotica, but the Fifty Shades stuff has brought a lot of us out of the closet.
My current favorites are a series of historical western erotica stories.
Vane wrote: "Evangeline anderson brides of kindred are awesome sci fi erotica series."I just picked up the first one the other day. Now you have me really excited to read it.
As I said in another thread I am kind ashamed that I loved Lora Leigh's "Maverick". I am not ashamed to admitt that I do very much enjoy reading erotica. Where as a while ago I would have been ashamed to admit it to the world. Now I say let the world know I like good sex in books!!!!

Serious chick-lit *the fluffier the better!* junkie here. :) And I also gobble Harlequin & Mills&Boon stuff :)

Read all of Hell's Eight and Shadow Wranglers from Sarah McCarty. Very good.
Ashamed....not
I don't share my general bdsm titles with anyone but my GR buddies. Not that my friends would be horrified, okay...maybe a little frightened, but not outraged. I loved Barbara Cartland novels as a preteen and I don't admit to that either or the Harlequin Presents.
lol SFR Erotica is awesome! I love
Now, that is fun plot to detail. I am not ashamed though. lolNow,
is an old school book I still really like and know there is so much wrong with it but none the less... lol I am fairly shameless.
I cut my romance-reading teeth on Johanna Lindsey and Jude Deveraux. I wanted to be a Montgomery or Taggart. Strangely, never wanted to be a Malory. It's sad I don't get into their newer books as much.
Yeah, I'm not ashamed to admit I still love a bunch of the old bodice rippers from the 70s and 80s ☺
Heard that some of the old goodies are being reprinted, but made pc (some scenes changed). Catherine Coulter I guess just recently republished one of her oldies.
I still love the Historicals from the 70's and 80's. In fact, I have a lot of them on my keeper shelf. I waited with baited breath for books by K.E. Woodiwss, Rosemary Rogers, Laurie McBain, Patricia Gallagher and Johanna Lindsay to name a few. If you wanted sensual and just great writing in Contemporaries, Sandra Brown and Barbara Delinsky couldn't be beat for me. I still read some of these authors.
I couldn't agree more with you both. I didn't even read what the book was about. If it was from those mentioned authors, I just bought them. I loved everyone one of the! My love of reading started with Bodice rippers...not ashamed to admit. LOL
I only admit my guilty pleasure book (erotica romance, include bdsm and menage title) with my GR friends. I never shared my reading addiction with my family and friends here, they just not into that kind of thing. Though I shared my "moderate romance" book with my sister and my mom (they also romance reader but not as addicted as I am).
There are so many books that I would be ashamed to admit to reading and enjoying. If anyone ever looked through my NOOK library, the would assume that I am a pervert, into BDSM and other "kink". That said, I am embarassed about liking Y/A romance because I am 30 years old. I think it's cute, and I remeber when I was younger and thought a certain guy was my world. lol
While I might not share others' tastes, I don't think it's right to judge folks for their reading.
Usually folks who don't even read look down on readers of genre fiction like romance. etc.
