Hannah (shgmclicious) | 25 comments So I'm curious if goodreads has a function yet for searching for an entire series. I know if I type in the title, the books in the series will start to pop up, but am I missing the place where I can search and directly go to the series page, or is that not a thing?

Beth (bethjustbeth) | 1568 comments You should be able to either type in the series in the search field, such as "Dresden Files," or you can bring up the title of one of the books, then click on the series name that appears next to the title, and it should give you the entire series, in order. The series should also appear on the author's page.

That's what I mentioned. I know you can do that, but I was wondering if there was a way to search directly for the series and not have to jump through hoops.

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments If you go directly to the series page http://www.goodreads.com/series , there's a link in the upper right for a Google custom search on series pages that'll find series by name, description, and/or book title. It's not an actual GR search, but it's linked as a useful resource.

Beth (bethjustbeth) | 1568 comments I'm a little confused. When I type a series name, "Heartland," "Dresden Files," "Sookie Stackhouse," etc, in the search box, and hit enter, I get the series.

Hannah (shgmclicious) | 25 comments Thanks, Cait! That's something they should definitely look into refining, I think, next time they do an update. And Beth, you're getting the series, but not really...

Basically, you're getting the series as a result because you typed in a name and those books all have that name, but you're not getting linked to the series page, and you're not getting exclusively that series, because it's still just a general search. I was hoping there was a way to search for a series the same way you can get a specific book now, without having to read through search results (i.e. when goodreads made their search box like Facebook's)

This only happens when one of the editions has the series name in parenthesis in the Title Field of the book.
