I started Early.I'm liking it so far.
I hope there's some detailed explanation at some point about the difference between greater and lesser vampires...
Also, why exactly Delilah is a were-housecat, rather than some sort of large cat or other.
I started the first couple chapters and stopped when I found out it was Febs read.. so I been waiting to pick it up again in Feb..But yes I wondered that too!!
WHY is she a kitty cat? I really hope they explain it better in the book.. its very different then or shifters that I have read about.
I'm not convinced I like this author's writing style...it seems a bit hokey so far. But, I will trudge forward. I'm only on chapter 2 so far, so I guess my opinion is still premature :)
the book isn't close to me right now, but I think it was Chapter 2.. I figured I breeze through it since it wasn't that long, but as of right now I don't really have the desire to keep reading it lol
I am the same I started this book and since it was a group read I decided o wait until Feb. Here is my question so the middle sister is a kitty cat..and I agree with you all that seems strange? I mean where did her body mass go? Am I thinking to hard.
But the vamp sister what we she before she became a vamp? Like was she a witch and if so does she still have witch powers? Did I miss something?
Ya I wondered the same thing about the half vamp. Because it states they are all HALF human from the start so what was the vamp before she got bit?
I wouldn't get too hung up about Delilah's were status. She's not the only shifter in the book and you'll see later that mass doesn't factor in. I don't recall if it goes into any great detail about her tabby status in this one, but it is covered a bit more in her book Changeling
I think it said somewhere that she is only a small cat because of her half human status. Now, I do recall the part where we're told that Menolly was an acrobat before the change. Maybe in this world an acrobat is a magical creature lol :)
I know...I am willing myself to fnish this, because my mom taught me to never quit a book, but boy I want to throw it out the window and dump water over it. The sex scenes are so lame, I just wanna barf.
I'm a chapter short for our weekly chapter assignment, and I'm already struggling. It's not capturing my interest. I hope it gets better.
I like it so far, it seems intriguing and alot different then what I have been reading. Perhaps thats why I am taking to it better.
I made myself read the first 6 chapters. It didn't get any better as I went. It's still not catching my attention very well. The author is really stuck on Camille's looks, always going on about her makeup and clothes. Boring!!
I'm also struggling.. not a big fan. I have so many other books that look more promising sitting around. I will finish it though.
I wish I was done... lol. And I heard good things about this book too. What were these people reading??
LOL, interesting that so many of you aren't enjoying this. I've read the first two, and while they aren't my favorites, I did like them.
DarkHeart, I'm surprised you enjoyed this book, your taste is so like mine...maybe we were reading different witchlings LOL
Hehe, Laura. I liked the different shifters they introduce and found the mythology interesting. Hopefully you're enjoying J.R. Ward more - because I do think she is brilliant. ;)
Finished the required chapters, and even though it did not really captured my attention, I will continue reading it next week. Moving on to Frost's Halfway to the Grave.
Hey can we vote to abort a book after the first week if major rules we don't like it? Cause I sure don't. I am not finishing this. I have too many new authors to check out. I figure if we give ourselves the option to run a trial the first week and learn each others options that would work. Or maybe doing a BOM is working through the not so liked books as well. Let me know please.1. I don't like the writing style
2. I don't like the characters
3. While trying to be unique and original, I don't like the setting
I am liking it as well DarkHeart. And as far as aborting a book well I guess thats for the mod to decide but no one is making anyone else read it or participate. All of the BOM groups are totally optional :)
There are so many challenges out there and monthly reads that there is enough to pick and choose if you dont like a book after starting it :)
Even though I'm not really into the book, I don't think it would be fair to all concern to end the BOM thread. People have different responses to the same book, and most have committed to it.However, it is okay, to personally not continue the book and not participate on that specific BOM thread. After all, life is too short to read something you don't like, when there are too many books out there.
I agree with YZ, I will be finishing it even though I'm not loving it right now, because it could all of a sudden get really interesting.I noticed that some people during voting expressed some regret at the book to begin with. So maybe we'll just have to be more careful about picking a book for March.
But anyone is more than welcome to stop reading, I would never force anyone to read a book. That's just mean lol.
I'll be putting out a thread for March suggestions maybe today.. or tomorrow, I haven't decided yet.
Thanks for your response Jess. I wasn't sure what to say really, lol. I am not going to continue but I'll check in on the discussion to see how things go. Hope things get better!
lol.. I put up the thread for suggestions for march. Maybe that will make you feel a little better :)
LOL. Jess, your too much sometimes. Thanks. I will enjoy seeing yall's opinions as you continue the book =)
I'm gonna say, if you don't like it by the end of chapter 5, you probably aren't going to.The writing style is consistent, the love scenes are all like the first one, and it goes on in the same way.
I like it, but yeah. Hopefully next months book will get a better general response.
So, maybe I should take the blame for being a Negative Nely..but let's discuss what is actually going on in the book hehe. Or are we supposed to wait til the end of the week to be fair?

Definitely chat about it, Laura. I'm not doing the read along, but I do appear to be one of the rare ones that enjoyed it, so I'll happily chat about it. ;)
So, has anyone ever read the Forgotten Realms? Trillian reminds me of those dark elves(drow), I guess that's the idea. I think his character would intrigue me if he was more developed. Even though he says things like "you know you want me hot and hard..." bwahahaha
Laura wrote: "So, has anyone ever read the Forgotten Realms? Trillian reminds me of those dark elves(drow), I guess that's the idea. I think his character would intrigue me if he was more developed. Even thou..."Knowing that I don't have the book in front of me, so I'm not sure when characters are introduced, I definitely prefer Morio and Smokey to Trillian. Trillian is interesting, and I'm intrigued by him, but I'm not sure how much I like him, even after the second book.
Well, you must be like Camille, she doesn't "like" him either!!Morio is more likeable, and I think Smokey was hilarious.(Does he appear in other books?)
Yep, all three of them were back for Changeling. Trillian did grow on me a bit more, but I'm still not a convert. ;)
So I know I'm a bit behind on the group read, but I finally started this book. :) I'm almost through the third chapter. My question right now is what kind of book is this? The spine says paranormal romance, and my library has it shelved in the romance section, but it's seeming more urban fantasy to me.
Is this a romance book?
