The Probable Future
question
Trying to find another author similar to Alice Hoffman
I don't think there can be anyone like Alice Hoffman, but I have enjoyed reading the books by Robert McCammon (A Boy's Life) and Joe Hill (NOS4A2, The Heart Shaped Box.) Tannanarive Due has written some interesting books also.
Though I could never say my style is like Alice Hoffman's, she has definitely influenced my style. My book, Bad Girls, is slated for release by Artema Press July 9th (Amazon, both print and ebook). You can read an excerpt and see other info on my website www.deborahdoucette.weebly.com
Alice Hoffman is one of my favorite authors, there is no one like her really. Although others do "magic realism," I find most to be very fantasy-like and not grounded in reality and evocative in the way that Hoffman achieves. I hope you like my book; definitely grounded in reality, but with a sprinkle of magic.
