Hello, I tried to introduce myself on the thread 'new to the group' but no one seemed to notice! Either I've turned into wallpaper or my post didn't show up. So I'll try again here. I am a writer across a number of genre and media, but I read mysteries, crime and thrillers for my own pleasure. I particularly enjoy literary and psychological thrillers. I live in Newcastle upon Tyne. Looking forward to getting to know some of you.

Welcome Fiona. Be sure to check out the group read theads. The discussions never really close and I'm pretty sure we've read some good psychological thrillers.

Glad you made it to the post. (You can't keep a Jordie down.) I know as I came from Lancashire to the US after WW11 (!948) Tell us about yourself.

Aye lad, am a geordie livin' in the Toon - though I do like a bit o' Lancashire hotpot! I moved to South Africa with my parents in 1980. Went to high school there and then university. Married my university sweetheart then after some work with a Christian aid organisation became a journalist in Cape Town. We moved back to the UK in 2002. I lecture at Newcastle Uni in journalism and writing for the media and also at the other uni in town, Northumbria, in writing for stage and screen. I also do my own writing and have a small publishing company. I understand the separation in this group between my role as a writer and reader and I'm happy to respect that. So if you're interested in my writing you can check it out, if not, let's just chat about books!

A.G. (rockinghorse) | 75 comments Very nice to get a fast reply, Fiona. Are you in the author's corner? I'd like to chat on either. I can talk about my books and you can do the same with yours. Seems we both have a checked past and travled the world a bit.

I haven't found my way to the author's corner yet AG. I wanted to find my way around as a reader first. But I'm sure you'll see me there in due course!
