Two questions

Is there a place to mention it is part of a series and should I do this if I only have one book completed?

Second, back to the cover, I am always afraid to hit the delete cover button.

How and where do I add the new cover. And is there anyway to even update the cover of my current giveaway with the new cover

We do not delete covers that have been published. A new alternate cover edition needs to be created with the new cover.

IF the book you are giving away is published then we do not change the cover,

You can create a series and attach to the finished book - mentioning in the series description anything about the series. If you have a name (or even if not) you can add the second book in the series to GR. Lots of unpublished books are added as placeholders.

Three steps forward, one back.
It seems that I was able to add the cover... But now there is a Kindle edition sitting there with just the goodreads logo?

Also, re: the series. Do I need a "series name" before I can add the name of book 2 (which has yet to be written)

Edit: you can add book two as untitled and add to the series, probably would be good to have a series name rather than untitled series

Did you re publish ASIN B007OVUPXU with the new cover?? if not then we can remove it but if you updated ASIN B007OVUPXU with the new cover then the alternate cover edition should stay

Sorry, I'm now sure what I did. I saw the browse for cover button and uploaded the new cover.

Then when I started to enter the info, it said a book already existed and I clicked the link for Night of the Purple Moon.

And here I am.

I've only written one book... All the various covers on goodreads represent the identical thing... with the exception that I have both a kindle version and a paperback available.

(Bear in mind the second link contains incorrect information such as stating the novel is hardback and uses and external description, the first link uses the actual blurb instead)

Help, super librarians!
I wanted to merge two books that were in fact the same edition. One had ISBN, the other didn't, but I am sure they are the same, as their info was similar, but incomplete. And it's the only edition in Romanian.
I separated them and then combined them, in order to obtain a single, better version, but I noticed I can't delete any of them, as they have more than 5 reviews.

So... I made one complete version here:

Then the correct edition has to be combined with this:
