Wise Louise (louisewise) | 27 comments I'm trying to update an old book with a newer version, and I need a librarian. Anyone around to help me, please?

Pretty please?

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments I can't see any to combine?

message 4: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments If you just add the book I'll combine it when you have it done. Don't delete the older version though.

message 5: by Louise (new)

Wise Louise (louisewise) | 27 comments That's the thing. I can't add the new one because it says 'already exists'.
This is the old one: Eden

The new one is: http://amzn.to/MzcXgA but how can I get it from Amazon to here if GR says it already exists?

Or am I being thick?

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments When is the new one published? & by who

message 7: by Andrew (new)

Andrew Lawston (andrewlawston) | 1774 comments It's a little OT, but I have to ask. I once contributed a short story to the anthology Shelf Life - is there any way I can add myself as a contributing author?

message 8: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Done Andrew

message 9: by Andrew (new)

Andrew Lawston (andrewlawston) | 1774 comments Wow thanks! It was a fantastic project to be involved with, and my first appearance in a hardback, so it's awesome to have it on the author profile :)

message 10: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments No problem!

message 11: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Wait, Louise do you mean an actual brand new published version or just a new cover?

message 12: by Louise (new)

Wise Louise (louisewise) | 27 comments It's the same book (ish), but it's been updated with a new cover, blurb etc.

I published it on Amazon (the paper back now longer exists.)

message 13: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments KDP you mean?

Gimme the exact dates

message 14: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments You also might want to combine your profiles

message 15: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Wait. I think I've double it.

Is there an older Kindle edition as well?

message 16: by Louise (new)

Wise Louise (louisewise) | 27 comments There's a paperback version which can't be bought any more, and that's what's showing here.I want the Kindle version in it's place.

And yes, I've two profiles now! Agh! Two of me. Horrible!

It is probably best to leave the paperback there, because some people may have that version. I know that I prefer my book list to have the correct version & I am quite particular about the cover being the same as my own copy too.

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Right so now I'm so confused.

When I went into your book there is already a Kindle version there.

Are you saying you need 2 versions to be there.

1: a kindle

2: a paperback.

Janet is right. The paperback MUST stay. This isn't an authors thing. This is a GR thing. All books must stay unless they are direct doubles.

You already had a Kindle version well before I appeared, so I don't know what you are asking. I can update the Kindle cover if you wish?

message 19: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments I've updated the cover of the Kindle version and now you have 1 paperback, 1 kindle.

To my understanding, this is now correct

message 20: by Louise (new)

Wise Louise (louisewise) | 27 comments Louise-Lesley - Thank you! You've added my eBook of Eden and that's all I wanted and was trying to say (rather badly!).

This Eden by Louise Wise can't be bought (being updated) but Eden by Louise Wise can. Brilliant. Thank you.

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments We got there in the end lol!

message 22: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I keep looking at this thread title and thinking of that fad a few years ago for food combining. Anyone remember it? You could only eat carbs with carbs and protein with protein, I think. How boring.

Good for Elle, the problem solver!
