M.A. Demers | 43 comments I did some experiments with K8 formatting and how it translates when viewed on different Kindle devices and apps, and concluded most of us should avoid it unless absolutely necessary. I've posted the results -- complete with screen shots -- on my blog: http://mademers.com/globalindieauthor....

Much informative work on your part in discovering all the "cool" stuff that likely will go wrong. In presenting a story, it's best to keep the formatting straight-forward and let the story speak for itself. Thanks for sharing your observations.

M.A. Demers | 43 comments What is particularly discouraging is the number of professional formatters that are promoting their ability to produce KF8 yet do not warn their clients of the pitfalls.

That is discouraging. I expect my formatting to be as straight-forward as possible - just a cover graphic, no t/c, some italics, chapter numbers and LOTS of action.
