I got started on the book late because someone returned it 12 days past its due date at the library.
Anyway the prologue reminded me a lot of the story to the video game Dead Space which for those who haven't played it is about a derelict space mining station where the human inhabitants have been corrupted into strange abominations.
From what I've read past that point I'm not sure that the horror feel of the book is going to continue but its still good.
That's what I thought. I even mentioned that in my review of the book. And it's not just the beginning mind you. I thought some other parts were like that.
Aliens also came to mind. And any number of episodes of Star Trek in which the away team beams into an abandoned station/colony/vessel to find the inhabitants have dissapeared/turned-into-monsters/died-of-old-age.
