You're correct. I'm not interested in Revenge, but one of my friends loves it.

Cari: You have too! It's about the lady who wrote it and Walt Disney and how they got her to let them make it into a movie.

1)I cheated on my GR challenge by reading kids books.
2)I sprained my foot today.
3)I'm not allowed to eat real sugar.

Rachel (hopeless-wanderer) 2?

message 672: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (hopeless-wanderer) Aw! I hope it doesn't hurt anymore!

Elizabeth (elizabethnovak) | 1575 comments Mod
Yeah, it was actually pretty bad. But it doesn't hurt as bad as when it first happened. Nothings broken but it's swelled up big.

I read somewhere that she HATED the movie and wouldn't agree to another Poppins/Disney adaption after the first movie.

Oh really? Well they made it seem like she liked it after it came out.

Elizabeth wrote: "Oh really? Well they made it seem like she liked it after it came out."

"Although Travers was an adviser to the production, she disapproved of the dilution of the harsher aspects of Mary Poppins' character, felt ambivalent about the music, and so hated the use of animation that she ruled out any further adaptations of the later Mary Poppins novels.[13] At the film's star-studded première (to which she was not invited, but had to ask Walt Disney for permission to attend), she reportedly approached Disney and told him that the animated sequence had to go.[14] Disney responded by walking away, saying as he did, "Pamela, the ship has sailed."[14] Enraged at what she considered shabby treatment at Disney's hands, Travers would never again agree to another Poppins/Disney adaptation, though Disney made several attempts to persuade her to change her mind."

Oh haha, well they did make a point of having her hate the animation and music and dilution of the harsher aspects. But they ended it right after the premiere, and I can't remember if they had her be invited or not.

message 678: by [deleted user] (new)

Maybe after she saw what a success it was, she didn't mind it as much. Although a writer would hate having their story be so mutilated.

message 679: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh, and my guess is... 1?

message 680: by Elizabeth, He Satisfies My Soul (new)

Elizabeth (elizabethnovak) | 1575 comments Mod
Yeah, maybe.

Nope, guess again!

message 681: by [deleted user] (new)

Then it is most definitely 3, so it's not really a guess. xD Technically your turn again.

message 682: by Elizabeth, He Satisfies My Soul (new)

Elizabeth (elizabethnovak) | 1575 comments Mod
Haha yeah I guess. You can take my turn if you want, I can't think of anything right now.

message 683: by [deleted user] (new)

Alriiighty.

1. I am wearing a purple cardigan and a purple scarf
2. My favourite colour is purple
3. I like the smell of lavender

message 684: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (hopeless-wanderer) 1?

message 685: by [deleted user] (new)

3?

message 686: by [deleted user] (new)

You're both wrong. I really like the colour purple, but my favourite is blue. :)

message 687: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't really like purple or blue... :)

1.I've traveled to four different countries, and lived in three different states.
2.I speak four different languages: English, Spanish, Basque and French.
3.I've moved about ten times in my life.

message 688: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't like all shades, of course. I like pale purple - of a lavender-ish shade, and blue the colour of a winter sky on a sunny, cloudless day. :D

3?

message 689: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (hopeless-wanderer) 2?

message 690: by [deleted user] (new)

It's 2, Rachel's right! I speak English (well, duh) and I'm learning Spanish, and I know a bit of Basque, but French? NO! I only know 'Bonjour' and some other random things from Veggie Tales:) Lol.

message 691: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (hopeless-wanderer) #1 My favourite show is Doctor Who
#2 I'm wearing a hoodie
#3 If it's clean I want to watch Pompeii

Oh yeah, I didn't see that.

message 696: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm thinking you're more into Merlin than Doctor Who. xD

message 697: by [deleted user] (new)

1. I saw a snowy owl today!
2. I am our parrot's favourite person.
3. I am currently drinking french vanilla coffee.

message 698: by [deleted user] (new)

1?

message 699: by [deleted user] (new)

No. :D I did see one! Right by our house, perched on a hydro pole. There've been lots of sightings of them in Southern Ontario lately.

message 700: by [deleted user] (new)

Cool! We usually only see hawks and the occasional turkey buzzard around here.
