Marjorie Friday Baldwin (marjoriefbaldwin) | 26 comments haha, sorry but I started out last season totally expecting to like Once Upon a Time (OUAT) way better than Grimm both because of the casting and because of the fact I hate those dark, paranormal stories in book form.

I could not have been more surprised. The fairy tales in OUAT were so "thin" compared to the rich mythologies and world-building in Grimm. My gawwwwd, it's like the Grimm series is this creature unto itself....where as OUAT was fairly predictable, standardized TV fare. I was very disappointed in OUAT and totally blown away (surprisingly os) by Grimm.

Anyone else feel the same? Or just like Grimm in its own right?

Maritza (maricari90) | 28 comments I really like Grimm. I've only gotten halfway through the first season but it is pretty awesome. I haven't seen Once Upon A Time but I've only heard good things about it. It seems to me like Once Upon A Time is more like Grimm light.

I love the whole idea that there is this underworld of mythological creatures that have lived beside us the whole time. Not to mention Monroe has to be one of the BEST characters out there right now!

Samantha I tried OUAT and while it was enjoyable, it didn't keep my interest. I really like Grimm. More detailed and dark.

Karen M Grimm fan here. Tried four/five episode of OUAT but just didn't hold my interest like Grimm does. And if you are up to date (view spoiler).

Cary (vortigern) | 344 comments I like Once Upon A Time. Grimm I have not watched that much because it just didn't catch my interest. So I really don't even know what it's about. Except for the bad guys looking like rats. Or maybe it's the good guys that look like rats. : )

Nada Al-Karmi (nadooush) Actually I hated Grimm. I watched half of the first season then I kinda lost interest. It wasn't as interesting as Once Upon A Time for me. Also, it irritated me that ever since he found out that he's a grimm, all his cases suddenly became grimm related. Every where he goes, BAAAAAM!!, a mythical creature appears. I like OUAT more because there are twists in the fairy tales which makes them more appealing to me than just making them darker.

Cary (vortigern) | 344 comments I agree Nada OUAT gives classic fairy tales a fresh twist. Plus I like the way it jumps back, and forth from the fairy tale to the reality of the little town. I like Vamp Diaries, TB, Secret Circle, and both versions of Being Human, and of course Doctor Who.

Robyn Brown | 6 comments Love them both!! Just watched 3rd episode of 2nd season~really getting good!!

message 9: by M (new)

M | 5 comments I like both as well. I was surprised how unDisneyfied OUAT is given Disneys treatment of fairy tales. I love Grimm and the story treatment

Cary (vortigern) | 344 comments They are putting out so many pilots nowdays. It seems they keep the bad ones, and let the good ones slip away. There is a big difference between Grimm & OUAT. Grimm is like Urban fantasy cop show. I am so tired of cop shows. Everything is forensic lab. NCIS,Bones,Criminal Minds. Original CSI Vegas is the only really good one. I liked Terra Nova,Moonlight, and there aren't any Anime shows at all where I live like Trinity Blood, Vampire Knight, Blood. What's a poor paranormal guy to do?

Christopher Otiko (authorchris) | 9 comments Grimm is a great show. Much better OUAT.

Cary (vortigern) | 344 comments Hm. Actually I haven't watched a full epsiode of Grimm. It just didn't catch my interest. All the old fairy tales I know and love are in OUAT. They give the fairy tales a cool twist too. Even the dwaves are cool.
