Nick (whyzen) | 1295 comments I've got to be more careful reading Veronica's twitter feed. What has been seen can't be unseen.

She does have my condolences on not staying long enough to get a mug shot with GRRM.

Gratz to V on Vaginal Fantasy becoming part of Geek and Sundry. G&S, soon to be the Felicia Day media empire.

Felicia also announced there will be a monthly edition of Vaginal Fantasy, where they discuss romance books. There will be a male version called Penile Code, which looks more at games.

Can't wait to see the Scalzi interview.

I'm curious how either segments can get on YouTube without drinking or cursing ( a current restriction for S&L)? Does YouTube let you mark something as being for a more mature audience?

David(LA,CA) (davidscharf) | 327 comments I didn't think there was a problem with youtube and videos of drinking. Or at least, I know of one channel that used to do a beer tasting series in the past. Is that a new change at youtube, or just something they've put in place for channels they sponsor.

I am betting its a sponsorship issue. I too have seen plenty of drinking in youtube videos and specifically tasting series as well.

Kim | 477 comments Lots of popular shows like My Drunk Kitchen and Epic Meal Time involve copious amounts of drinking.

message 8: by Agrajag (new)

Agrajag | 56 comments I'm just speculating but my guess is they are concerned about underage drinking in YouTube videos. So random YouTube users can't drink. But if they've got a contract with someone, that's not a problem. Just my guess.

message 9: by Kim (new)

Kim | 477 comments Those shows all started as random users before they became "proper" shows.

Kim | 477 comments Oh and don't forget T&V have drunk wine on the show before for Tigana.

Oh, duh, I was just assuming from reading above that drinking wasn't allowed in general. If that's not even the case, my speculation was pointless! :)

message 12: by Nick (new)

Nick (whyzen) | 1295 comments I had thought they said they couldn't drink on the YouTube show. Maybe it was just cursing they couldn't do.

P. Aaron Potter (paaronpotter) | 585 comments Huh. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled another maligned genre is getting some good exposure and intelligent commentary, and yay to Veronica and Felicia. Still, can't help finding the series title kinda perpetuates the stereotypical gender divisions of the genres, to the exclusion of those of us who read romances and happen to lack...er...ladyparts.
Ah well. Inevitable pendulum swing countering the centuries-long silencing of female perspective.

Geek & Sundry isn't just another YouTube channel, it's one of the new original YouTube channels directly sponsored by Google. I'm assuming since Google is actively bankrolling these channels, they're held to a different standard than the Google Terms of Service the typical YouTube channel is under.

Stephanie (einahpets_reads) Here is the official announcement of all the new launches for Geek and Sundry: http://geekandsundry.geekandsundry.co...

I was actually at the Geek and Sundry Comic Con panel (squee!) and I have to admit that Written by a Kid is HILARIOUS. I had my doubts before they showed us the first episode (which will be going on youtube tomorrow), but it is awesome.

But I am most looking forward to Pat Rothfuss’ Authors’ Roundtable.
