Joy H. (joyofglensfalls) | 16697 comments I discovered the following website while looking around the Net:
http://www.shmoop.com/literature/

I've never seen such a clear way of dissecting literature. Give it a look. Its uniform presentation makes things so easy to grasp. The spatial arrangement of the different aspects also seems to help me digest the information.

What do you think?

Jim (jimmaclachlan) I'll try to check this out tomorrow. The page isn't loading over a modem.

Jim (jimmaclachlan) I read over their review of 1984 & a couple of others. I wasn't particularly impressed with 'Why should I care' section. A lot of it was too tongue-in-cheek &/or strayed. The 'In a nutshell' was REALLY brief, but accurate. It didn't go far enough. I'd say it's OK as a secondary source. I wouldn't use just it, though. Thanks for turning me on to it, though.

Take your choice of eleven different websites which are literature study guides similar to Cliffs!

Which is best? (g)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) Wow. That's an excellent list of sites. I've been on maybe half of them before or heard of them. Thanks.

Jim (jimmaclachlan) It's really easy to spend hours at a time surfing, isn't it? Wikipedia is my big downfall. While you need to keep in mind that any idiot can add to it or edit it (I'm one & so is one of my boys) there is so much good information there & links to other articles. I can start reading about philosophy & wind up getting the low down on an SF movie or reading an engineering text on MIT's site an hour later. It's like peanuts!
