I always feel curious about this fact that browsing books in library, book stores or online for me is equally exciting as reading a new book .....it fills me with excitement and energy...I'm the only one like that or everyone else feels same too?

NeenaI love browsing pictures with images, but I agree with you, I have stood in stores read first page then judged it on that, without reading reviews, recently new member of Goodreads it has made me want to read reviews ask more then go with my gut!
Sometimes, when feeling down or after a bad result I walk around the book store, looking at jackets and reading blurbs. Even just opening a random page from the middle to take a peek. It has a calming, almost meditating feeling.
I love browsing, I cant explain the quickening of the heartbeat, the restless eyes, the trembling hands - when I see books lined up in a library or a store.
:) Crossword/ Landmark or any other book stores fill me with that energy and happiness which I cannot describe!
Wherever I go, I could never avoid stopping by it and browse through few books in the book store there, if any.

But There is something in browsing books in Book stores and libraries that gives a special kind of happiness..

Sometimes, I spend more time browsing books than reading in a day, especially, when I am done with a book and haven’t started with next. I just can’t find myself stopping from checking recommendations, seeing what’s new and further cascaded views based on genres and so on. I look for reviews and then add onto my goodreads and scribd tbr lists. At the end of all the exercise, I find only few books getting short listed. It gives me hope that there is still room in tbr list for next search :)

However, this year i sort of reduced my book browsing fetish by almost 50% by preparing a list of books to be read for the year , recording them in a log and most importantly following the list :P

Ah, if only I spent a bigger fraction of the time that I spend browsing books on *ACTUALLY READING THEM*.
