Anthony, David warned me that he hated it. I'm still plugging away, though. I just don't care about any of the characters yet. Is this going to have a plot? Or is it just going to be this kid hanging around with these poets all the time?

I'm reading a book Heidi sent me about gangsters and old money families on The Gold Coast of Long Island. it is delicious and delightful and oh-so-escapist. I'm also reading a graphic novel-ish book: I'm Not Here for my project research, as well as This Book Contains Graphic Language: Comics as Literature. I just started Mirror on America:Essays and Images on Popular Culture. Then I watched Eminem's new video - which seems to have about 50 pop culture references within its three minutes.
Say what you will, I like Eminem.

I don't know how you read so many books at one time, Sally. I used to do that, I guess, but I'm usually book-monogamous now.
I just finished Candyfreak and I'm well into Bourdain's A Cook's Tour. I'm on a bit of a non-fiction kick now.
By the way, when I requested A Cook's Tour from the library I didn't realize I was requesting the "large print" edition. Reading large print books feels a bit weird. I hold the print way far away from my face.

what am i reading? last night i finished When March Went Mad by Seth Davis. it was about the NCAA final game (and season leading up to it) in 1979 when Magic and Bird met. a very good sports book.
then i began reading another Steven Pressfield book called Tides Of War even though i recently finished my third Pressfield book called Last Of The Amazons that i had a tough time with. so far he is 2 out of 3 with me so i am giving him another chance. this one is about the Peloponnesian War during the Hellenic Age. historical fiction.

I'm reading Nina Kiriki Hoffman's Common Threads. I really love her magical realism. One of her other books A Fistful Of Sky is one of my personal favorites, although I think it's a book for women.
Common Threads is set in the northwest, which makes it fun for me.

Oooh!
:::runs to YouTube to look:::

It's all a mish-mash, really.
Love the Jail House Rock Elvis part!
Can someone tell me who the big-bootied green dress lady is supposed to be? I'm guessing Rhianna but I don't know.

I thought they said Kim Kardashian, but I've been wrong before.

You see, Jackie? These are the posts that remind me you were the Vice-President of your Star Trek, uh, club.
Now, if there were a Buffy scene...

But I now know that if your office has a candy bowl, you are an extrovert. And that a pair of stiletto heels in a room with sports posters does NOT indicate that the owner of the room is a woman.
