Random Passage by Bernice Morgan (and it's sequel Waiting for Time) which was made into a CBC miniseries!
This Rock within the Sea (Mowat's first book, with lots of love for The Rock)The Boat Who Wouldn't Float (a bit less love from Mowat).
And finally...A Whale for the Killing. I haven't read the third one yet, but hear that it is Mowat at his most disenchanted.

Butterflycager wrote: "Come, Thou Tortoise by Jessica Grant"This was one of my favourite reads last year. The characters were so endearing. But I suggested to it a friend of mine and she abandoned it. Go figure! :)
If anyone plans to read Galore and is interested in the Real mummers, here is the website for this year's parade :Dhttp://mummersfestival.ca/
Theatre of Fish: Travels Through Newfoundland and Labrador is a great tour of Neowfoundland & Labrador with journalism about the fishing industry.

A dense read, but very powerful."
Thanks for using the add book/author function.

Welcome Joshua. I still haven't decided what I'm going to read for Newfoundland. Thanks for your recommendation.
I am presently reading River Thieves, it is historical fiction set in the early 1800s in Newfoundland.
I might have to check that out, Laurie. I love historical fiction. Do you like The River Thieves so far?
