Books with Elemental Magic Systems?

Other than Jim Butcher's Codex of Alera (sp?) series can someone recommend to me a book that makes heavy use of elemental magic systems? I'm writing a book series and I really want to put a new spin on it so I'm looking for ideas to help brain storm.

Also, if you're writing one maybe you could describe it to me just to help me get ideas flowing? I promise not to steal anything :p

Elric of Melniboné series by Michael Moorcock uses some of that, actually most of his series do. He has some strange elementals, not just the typical earth, wind, water, & fire.
