I love editing! I really do, I can't help myself. I will do for free too!! I am leaving in September but I will do as many as possible before then. The length of the work will determine how fast I get it done. If it is a short story I will try to get it to you the next day. If a novella please give me a max of a week. If longer than I will keep you updated of my progress. Please leave your name, genre, length, if you prefer edits in red, and email so I can get back to you!

If you do not wish to exchange emails, you can post here, and I will edit it with italics, paranthesis, and/or curly brackets. Please let me know which you prefer.

Alternatively, I will use Google docs and use red. When I am finished I will post the link here.

Darn, and I was about to send a friendly message! Hahaha. I would so have you edit my book, but it would take you WEEKS. I haven't finished my second edit yet.

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

@ace

If you could figure out how to send stuff through goodreads, that'd be great. I understand about not wanting to publicize your email. I'll be happy to edit whatever you like.

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

@ Cheyenne

It's quite alright if you haven't finished your second edit(is that like a draft?). I've edited stuff like that before. Just send them to me and I'll keep you informed. :)

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

Ok thanks but I know you probibly don't want to friend me but thats the only way to send mail through goodreads. What about you friend me then you delete me?

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

Question for all:

Would you like me to make the edits in red so that you can change things as you wish? Or would you like me to just change stuff?

Also please send them as some sort of document that I can edit (ie word document). PDFs are particularly difficult to edit.

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

Ace how bout I just plain old friend you? :)

Ace, you can send messages to someone's inbox who isn't their friend depending on their privacy settings.

Nicola, it's all right :) I want to finish my second edit before I let anyone else read it. I'm making a lot of big changes, and there are parts of the plot I need to fill in. Not to mention the book is already over 400 pages. With all of the added things, it might get close to 5 or 6 hundred. There's a chance I'll be splitting it into two books. I would say that maybe when you get back it'll be finished and I can send it to you, but by the time you get back I'll probably be gone as well.

Nicola, if this thread starts getting a lot of comments, most people won't read all of them. I'd recoommend editing your first post and putting that question there, in bold. :)

Thats fine I just thought sence you only have 3 friends you didn't friend many people.

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

@ Ace ok that will be good.

@Cheyenne wow 500 pages! Sounds like my kind book. Just keep me posted. If anything you could send it to my email when you're done even if I was in bootcamp and afterward I can work on it while I'm in school. That work?

I could send a couple chapters right now, but it really is going to take me a long time to get it finished. By then I'll probably just feel like giving it to the two editors I've got lined up, looking through it once more, and publishing the damn thing. Hahaha.

I've worked so hard on this book, and I love it. It's like my baby, but I just want to see it published already!

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

I know exactly what you mean! I have several that are way too far from publishing. I always edit though before I start writing something new. Which is why it's taking so long. If you send me a couple chapters, then you can see how I edit. If I'm too picky, or not picky enough for you. :)

Honestly, the more feedback someone gives, the better. Even if it seems really picky and annoys me at first, it'll help me to become a better writer. I'll go look at my book and see how many chapters are ready to send.

After Anna emails me, I'm deleting my email from this page. If you would like me to edit something that you have on goodreads, I found a way to edit it and get it back to you. We will both have to copy and paste, but I think it's worth it. I can not use red on it, so I will use italics and paranthesis. Thanks for asking for my services.

You don't want it sent by email?? That would be a lot easier for me. I'm a big fan of italics, and if I copy and pasted my work into goodreads I would either lose all of my italics or I'd have to go through and add in the characters to get italics on goodreads.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

No, no. You can still use my email as can Anna and others whose works aren't on goodreads. But I'll message those people individually.

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

Anna you haven't sent me you stories. Are they on Goodreads? Cheyenne, I'm working on it I promise. Been busy. I really like it so far.

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

Cheyenne, I'm half way through the work you sent me. I'm enjoying it very much. And there are very few problems.

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

Cheyenne, your stuff is done. I'll email you soon.

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm finished with Cheyenne's and Ace's works. No one else has sent me anything. I am still open for business!

Nicola, I got your email saying you were finished, but not an email with it attached. I sent you an email back too.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I was actually really nervous as to whether it was any good or not.

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

I know, I goofed. I keep forgetting to attach things!! I re-emailed you, so hopefully you should have it now. I'm really looking forward to the rest of it and seeing if she got into the Knights!!!
