What Are You Reading Now?

What ARE some of these "authors" thinking??

I had tried to read it before, but since I hadn't reread the past books I had in more than 4 years I was lost so I never finished it.

Another series (Butch Karp/Marlene Ciampi) by Tannenbaum is one I want to re-read chronologically.
And Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan series comes to mind.

Although I read the Outlander series in order I thought because the stories were so long I thought I would never do a reread. I think I have read Outlander 5 times and the rest twice. By the way, I found out that the 20th anniversary edition is an abridged version of Outlander. It loses about 300-400 pages. I never write the publishing company, but this time I did. I felt that they should know I was so disappointed I took the book back and will look for a used copy of it. I was really disappointed.

But, Mr. Perfect is really intense and pretty soon, once it catches up pace, not sleep nor anything else could keep you from reading it through to the end!

But,..."
Thank you for that Serenity (BTW, I love your name). I have noticed that this year for some reason I am reading so much slower than I usually read. I typically read a book a day, but this year I am finding it takes me three or four days to read the same size book. I guess I am slowing down in my old age, or maybe I am reading every line instead of skimming. Yeah I like that answer...that is my story and I am sticking to it.
Anyway, how can I get a copy of your book, Serenity?

I can relate once again to the reading this year being slow. Until mid last year I was studying and you'd think with all the technical and scientific literature I had to read and the many things I had to keep in my mind reading novels was difficult. But on the contrary, it gave me some much-needed relaxation. This year, on the other hand, I've finally finished my studies and am working and I dont have time to read half as much books as I used to read before! But I like your perspective - we are reading every line and between the lines and absorbing every little detail. That's why it takes longer ;)
You can get my book at:

Thank you for asking! I hope you enjoy it. Let me know! :)

Never fails, I start to read and when I wake up the book is always on the floor where it fell when I drifted off.

Or if you'd rather wait for your kindle to be returned, then you can get the kindle version when you get it back.
Kathy, it sucks when you're too tired to read doesn't it ? Because you know that if you could only manage to read a good book, then you'd feel so much better and more relaxed!

Last night, I went to see Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella. It was a Broadway play in Phoenix, Fran Dresser played the wicked stepmother. I loved the version that was the movie. My granddaughter and I would watch it every time I would babysit her. I would pick her up and we would dance the waltz with the people. I haven't seen or heard from her in 10 years. I wonder if she remembers. Anyway, I am not sure I liked the play. They added a scene where the people were having their land taken away from them, and they also added a scene where Prince Ropher (Christopher) had a banquet after the ball in order to find Cinderella. The second time he saw her instead of losing her shoe she gave it to him. Otherwise I loved the play. I am guessing they added they those scene in order to make the play longer.

After your long evening, I'm not surprised you fell asleep so fast ;) So don't blame yourself too much - take it easy, and you'd probably go further tonight :)

How interesting. I was also watching Cinderella but this was Disney's movie version of Cinderella.
I was watching it with my niece and nephew and we were all enjoying it very much. Everything about the film was spectacular, to the costumes, music and the performances. Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter and Lily James portrayed their roles amazingly.

i just reserved it at the library. It sounds really good. I look at these dated books as historical fiction. I know at the time they were written they were contemporary, but that is the nice thing about time. You also know the historical part is accurate.

I just finished and still can`t do a review on GR so I`ll do a quicky here.I made a big mistake with not noticing the authors name, obviously a male and not really my cuppa, they just don`t seem to have much emotions in their stories= dull to me.
It had my fav ghost story plot in a big old house but I found the supreme destroyer for profits of the ancestors especially since the give away was ghost and 14 y.o. driven of the NW forests vs the supreme enviormentalism of giving away every last penny the family had dumb
I`d only give this book a 3* because it bored me but the plot was pretty good and maybe guys would like it.

I just got it and have only read the first 4 or 5 pages and did like it tho it didn`t really tell me anything.I do love SB tho she is my second fav author after LH,it would probably be a dead heat if she would add a little more romance.

I found out John Grey's lover at Culloden was Hector, and Percy made his appearance in the first Lord John novella. I have not read that book. I now have the book and will try to find to read it, but right now I am bogged down with reading.
