Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments I have so many books I want to read, but right now I am going to discipline myself to read Cry No More, and Witness. Then I am flipping to another group I belong to and read their book of the month.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 1619 comments After I finish Everyday, Average Jones I'm going to read Cry No More unless I get notified that my library hold for Fast Track is in, then I will stop everything and read Fast Track (Buchanan-Renard, #12) by Julie Garwood

Kathy Anne (kathyanne) | 598 comments Anita I just finished the reread of all the books that I started I think it was June when Moby came out, that was about 2 books/mo. of steady reading-no big breaks.
I think If it were me I`d watch it and read the Highlander Series discussion on here and you will get a good idea of the movie from that.I hope even if you don`t like the movie you will give the books a try.Even tho I don`t like History or war movies or books I am addicted to these. It looks to me like yu and I like the same books usually-I`ve bought some of your recs already so I hope you like these too,at least they keep a person busy reading !

I am planning on reading all the books. I have them all from my #2 daughter. I have been invited to a Outlander Sept book club meeting by daughter #1. I hope to have it read for that.

Janeiowa | 5009 comments Just finished Falling for Max Falling for Max (Kowalski Family, #9) by Shannon Stacey . I loved it that Max was different from most HEA male characters. It was refreshing that someone other than the usual suave, confident main character can be so interesting and fun.

message 762: by Nancy (new)

Nancy (gr-nancy-a) | 799 comments I am reading one of the e-books that I downloaded. It is a collection of nine books. So far I like 3 if the 4 I've read. All new authors to me.
The Naughty Nine is the title ( I think). Will give a final report when done :)

message 764: by Dee (new)

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments I just finished Fast Track Fast Track (Buchanan-Renard, #12) by Julie Garwood , and since Outlander was on last night I had to pick up the book and reread at least part one.

message 765: by Nancy (new)

Nancy (gr-nancy-a) | 799 comments The naughty nine were all contemporary romance--introduced me to new authors.
Taylor Lee stands out.
Only one I chose not to read..as subject matter didn't appeal & one I skimmed through.

message 766: by Eve (new)

Eve (everf) | 815 comments I'm getting thru Susan Elizabeth Phillips booklist right now. I LOVE her writing style. So far there's been only 1 book that I did not like - Glitter Baby. Now I'm currently reading Natural Born Charmer and enjoying it very much.

message 767: by Anita (new)

Arriving today are Against the Wild (Brodies of Alaska, #1) by Kat Martin and Against the Mark (The Brodies, #2) by Kat Martin . Anita (anitanodiva) | 1619 comments My library holds all decided to show up at the same time! I am currently reading Love Irresistibly (FBI/US Attorney, #4) by Julie James by Julie James and I am loving it. Next up is Night Diver by Elizabeth Lowell by Elizabeth Lowell, Do or Die (Reluctant Heroes, #1) by Suzanne Brockmann by Suzanne Brockmann, Twisted (Tangled, #2) by Emma Chase by Emma Chase and Mean Streak by Sandra Brown by Sandra Brown. I have been on hold for some of these books for months and they all show up at the same time. Just my bad luck.

message 777: by Jonetta (new)

Jonetta (ejaygirl) Hope you've got them for three weeks because you've got some GREAT ones!

Janeiowa | 5009 comments A Love to Call Her Own
A Love to Call Her Own (Tallgrass, #3) by Marilyn Pappano

I'm reading Marilyn Pappano and her series on the "Margarita Club" - aka the Army Widows Club at Fort Murphy in Tallgrass, OK. How these women help each other, cope with their grief, and find second chances at the HEA is a powerfully emotional read. I'm in the middle of this latest one.

I know! That is why it was so disconcerting for them all to show up at once! I can't take the time to truly appreciate reading at a slower pace.

Wendy Kalthoff (wkalthoff) | 132 comments The book I am refering to is cry no more by linda howard.

i fell in love with the second part of this book. I cried when she gave up her son after all these years. Had tears in my eyes when justin finally looked for her. milla was a brave woman and passoinate as well.

It is a very delicate subject, kidnapping of a womans son, though it is fiction, I can see it really happeneing. Now I need to find a lighthearted book to read.

message 784: by Anita (new)

Anita (anitanodiva) | 1619 comments I felt the same way after Cry No More by Linda Howard . All I wanted was a book that would make me laugh.

message 785: by Janeiowa (last edited Aug 28, 2014 06:02PM) (new)

Janeiowa | 5009 comments I'm reading an author I heard about here at GR---Sleigh Bells in the Snow. Sarah Morgan. I'm not sure how I'll end up rating it...pretty ordinary so far.

Sleigh Bells in the Snow (O'Neil Brothers, #1) by Sarah Morgan

message 786: by Jonetta (new)

message 787: by Dee (new)

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments I am getting into Andrea Kane's books. Her books are more drama than mystery, but so far I haven't found one that is bad. I finished Twisted Twisted by Andrea Kane and at the climax of The Stranger You Know The Stranger You Know (Forensic Instincts #3) by Andrea Kane .

message 788: by Dee (new)

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments I am also rereading tThe Wolf and the Dove The Wolf and the Dove by Kathleen E. Woodiwiss . I haven't read this book since it came out in 1974. I loved the book then, but now I have several objections to the story line. Oh well, I might not like as well as I did then and but it is still good. And today I got Susan Elizabeth Phillips latest book. Heroes Are My Weakness Heroes Are My Weakness by Susan Elizabeth Phillips

message 789: by Janeiowa (new)

Janeiowa | 5009 comments I read an excerpt of that earlier at SEP's website, and it's certainly a different storyline. I am on the WL from the library because I'm not paying what they for the ebook when I've been so disappointed in her last couple of books.

I loved SEP's early stuff...the STARS, etc., but then it seemed downhill these last few releases, to me.

message 790: by Nancy (new)

Nancy (gr-nancy-a) | 799 comments Yeah. I hate when that happens with an author that I like.

message 791: by Janeiowa (new)

Janeiowa | 5009 comments Me, too, Nancy, and it's happening to a couple of my old favorites.

Luckily, I've learned about new - to - me authors here that I'm loving---Jessica Scott and Marilyn Pappano leap to mind.

message 792: by Anita (new)

Anita (anitanodiva) | 1619 comments The good thing about getting books and e-books from the library is they are free. The bad thing when you request a popular book is that you have to wait and don't know when you will get it. My good (bad) luck seems to be holding as I just got notification that Fast Track (Buchanan-Renard, #12) by Julie Garwood by Julie Garwood is waiting for me.

message 793: by Dee (last edited Aug 30, 2014 11:30PM) (new)

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments I have been really lucky with my library. When a new book comes in they have a bunch of books on wait list and also just as many, if not more, that are on the best seller list. The best seller list cannot be put on hold, so now when a new book comes in I am almost always assured of getting it within a day or two of it coming out.

message 794: by Kathy Anne (new)

Kathy Anne (kathyanne) | 598 comments I have been trying to read Ken Follets Pillars of the Earth and World Without End.O.M.G. I read a few pages every so often and finally gave it up,I really did not like either one and I know they were made into movies because there were pics of the stars but I never heard of any of them-I would give either one only 1*

message 795: by Dee (new)

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments I also tried reading Pillars of the Earth and I can't remember the name of the other book he wrote but I couldn't finish that one either. I am not a big fan of KF.

message 796: by Kathy Anne (new)

Kathy Anne (kathyanne) | 598 comments World With Out End that I listed above was the other one I ordered and it was the same as Pillars-about the same people too and he had others. They are about the mid 1300s-that was one scary time if you weren`t rich even, worse than Diana`s 1700s.Do you think they will look back 200 yrs to 2014 and say how awful if you weren`t rich and powerful? Well it`s back to work today I took a couple weeks off and enjoyed them now back to traveling for work today.

message 797: by Kathy Anne (new)

Kathy Anne (kathyanne) | 598 comments I forgot I just started Ghost Bride about a Chinese family that is trying to get this girl to marry there just dead son. This is different for sure.

message 798: by Anita (new)

Anita (anitanodiva) | 1619 comments I broke it. I broke my Kindle. I am on chapter 26 of Do or Die (Reluctant Heroes, #1) by Suzanne Brockmann and I dropped my Kindle and broke it. Fear not - an emergency backup is in place and the transfer is complete. Whew, that was a heart attack averted.

message 799: by Dee (new)

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments That is a good question. I figure that the serfs just took it for granted and figured it was just life.
