A best friend is a gift that keeps giving. A best friend is a love beyond describing. A best friend sticks with you through hard times even if they utterly despair the situation at hand. I used to have a best friend one in which my energy was absorbed. This is the story of her.
"Lizzie wake up" Kelly's voice boomed into my ear.
"Why" i muttered under my breath even though i knew that it was me that had signed Kelly and I up for the new Art Club.
" Lizzie if i have to say it one more time i am going to quit and you know i will" I laughed knowing that she would if i did not get up.
" Thank you. You know i am actually really excited for this" she shrieked. I was across my room pulling on my red converse.
" Same i knew you would like it" i said while a long yawn escaped my mouth.
" That's why we are best friends" Kelly started laughing like crazy. Some days i don't get that girl. I smiled.
As we rush the stairs its my mom who waits at the door keys in hand waiting to go. As we approach her she throws a strawberry pop tart to Kelly and I. A large smile blooms on Kelly's mouth as she loves my mom's choice of food considering her mom keeps her on an all vegan diet.
Chapter 2
After a long day of school and art club both Kelly and I were exhausted. Kelly's mom picked us up in front of school after such a long day some nice cozy leather seat felt nice. Kelly's face was Melancholy i figured it had to have been the incident in English class. Kelly had gotten a 40% on her Tom Sawyer quiz. When Mrs. Smith passed back Kelly's test she pointed out how disappointed she was. Our whole class stared at the class president the captain of varsity soccer and maybe the smartest girl in our grade in shock. I could tell that Kelly was just scared to tell her parents about her grade.
When we got to Kelly's room i threw my bag on her bed and took out my math binder. Kelly had not said a word since English class. I thought it would be good if i started to talk first.
" Kel are you OK? You have not talked in a while?" I kept my voice sweet and soft.
" I am fine god, can we just do our homework?" Kelly said her voice full of sadness,
" Yep fine with me" i knew something was wrong she never acts this was i getting really worried. Kelly's parents put a lot of pressure on her she has to get into Harvard to continue the tradition. Getting a bad grade did not exist is her world. The thought of what her parents were going to say about the 40% scared me.
Chapter 3
At school the next morning i saw Kelly in the hall she was not dressed in her normal preppy way yet in jeans and a baggy sweater.
"Hey Kelly!" I said still wondering why she was wearing what she was wearing?
"Hi?" She said it as if we had not know each other for 12 years?
In math class AP Geometry i sat next to Kelly. As our teacher passed back our previous math test i saw a a large red F was planted on the top on Kelly's paper. I was scared for her sake. For one she could get kicked out of her AP classes and lose her spot as varsity team captain.
" Are you OK, seriously?" i whispered considering we were in the middle of class.
"YES" she yells in the middle of our teacher lecture.
"Kelly please go to the office now!" Ms. Lay said.
"Fine this class was boring me out of my mind anyway!" Kelly yells back everyone in the rooms mouths drop.
"Now!" Ms. Lay said louder this time.
Chapter 4
That was the last time i saw Kelly Hirsh. Everything was different from that day on. Kelly's parents said her death had to do with Bullying in school, but what they don't know Kelly was the most loved girl in our school. Some people said it was because she had depression all along she had been hiding it. Her best friend knew it was the pressure from her parents that took my Kelly to the breaking point. I will always remember her as the girl she was before the pressure destroyed her, the girl i will remember as my true best friend.
