Mindbenders

Otherwise, here's a search of free paranormal books, sorted by average rating:

But be sure to check that the "Buy" price is $0.00, and not that they are free as a Prime eligible loan.

Nik (wittykitty13) | 1 comments Have you tried Pixel of Ink? They share about 15 free books daily from various genres. They're on FB as well so it will come up in your feed. They are usually good for the paranormal and bizarre and no SPAM to contend with.

Whirligig Ricochet

Both free over Labor Day weekend, September 1st-3rd.

Both have paranormal elements, yet not traditionally written. I think you would enjoy them anyway. :)

Nathan Preedy | 1 comments My epic fantasy 'The Beckoning Darkness' will be free on Amazon on Wednesday 24th April.

Two gods are battling each other. During their constant struggle, entire worlds are created, conquered and destroyed as each of them vies for dominance over the other.

On one such world, Pyrennia, an epic battle between good and evil is about to begin that could decide the fate of not only the world, but the entire universe.

An elven city attacked and burned by mysterious forces with knowledge of ancient powers, a human city plagued by disappearances, a malevolent tide of evil arising in the north.

An epic quest to seek answers and find the truth begins, but the truth is never what it seems.

In this first volume of the epic THE WAR OF THE GODS fantasy series, join Stephen Baroma, Guard Captain of Moshkar, as he begins to unravel the strands of a terrifying threat to the city that could have far reaching implications.

Forced far from his comfort zone, he joins forces with a group of elves who are also investigating the beckoning darkness. Thrust into dangerous situations against a foe more powerful than any of them could imagine, they must work together and uncover the truth about their common enemy.

Your Amazon listing has a pet peeve of mine -- no number of pages listed. The only indication of length is the file size, which is NOT a good indicator.

Any reason why? I've complained about the issue to Amazon several times.

Eric Westfall (eawestfall) | 105 comments I suspect that whether the AMZ listing has page numbers or not depends on what the author or publisher decides to enter, since AMZ would have no way of knowing. I agree that KB as a size indicator is useless. Putting in the word length is also an alternative. Based on some random testing of regular (mass market) paperbacks, 300 words per page is fairly normal, so words/300 would give you a pretty good idea.

Just a thought.

Eric

S. Trust | 29 comments It appears that books offered in both paperback and soft-copy have page numbers listed in their details.

Until a month or two ago, all Kindle books I had seen had number of pages listed...

Now, a large number of the newly published ones don't.

I found out about the page number thing. It takes time for Amazon to estimate the page number. When I first posted my book, it had no page numbers to it, now it does.
