Why isn't Alex playing Jace?

Alex will always be who i think of as Jace myself.

I can understand why Alex would be a good choice for Jace, but Jamie is a great actor and with him dating Lily Collins in real life, the chemistry is sure to be spot on! Plus, I do not like Alex Pettyfer's attitude. Jamie is a much more down to earth guy and deserves the chance to star in a great role.

I don't even like Jace as a character, or Alex for that matter, but I admit Alex was the one actor I actually liked for one of the TMI parts. He really looks like Jace.
yet i've been watching every trailer of Mortal instruments and Jaime has been a wonderfull job to role Jace, and he does look better - now he seems Jace... but still Alex will be the Jace of the books (it really suits him in attitude and phisical traits) :)

We were talking about why did Alex Pettyfer refused to role Jace's character. and comparing him to Jaimeat first, when i didn't know what was Jaime campbell gonna be like Jace, i was a bit upset, because firstly he wasn't how I have imagine Jace (in the book).
But seing the trailers and so on, I beggin to think that Jaime will do indeed a great job playing Jace, and if alex pettyfer doesn't want to play jace fine :) (his is life afterwards he do what ever he want with it :))
We found a person that played Jace (as far as i can see) very well and he is being fantastic in his job :)
but still the jace from the books will always be Alex to me its just my opinion, and i don't hate Jaime :)
Okay, Jamie is not how I ever imagined Jace. No. I was very disappointed with a lot of the cast. Even Alex Pettyfer was not my first choice for Jace, I'd still prefer him, but then again, Tobias for Divergent is nowhere near what I expected either.It's one thing to have the actors not much like the characters but can we at least stay in the same age? Like 25 and down? Do we really have to have 30 year olds play teenagers? It's doubtful and yet it is a big flaw in most movies. I'm not bashing Jamie or the dude playing Alec, I am just saying a lot of roles were not what I was hoping for. Oh well.
But at least with Jaime he is 24 so it is...reasonable. Except that when the movies are done he will be around 30. (If they continue)

I know a lot of you probably already realized this, but I think its cool the Jamie Cambell Bower is Jace because his initials are J.C. and Jace got his nickname from his initials, J.C., so techinically, his real name literally could be Jace!
I like Jamie Cambell Bower as Jace I imagined him different but what I have seen of his acting of playing Jace I think he makes a good fit.
I just thought I'd point out that if Alex thought that he was to old to play Jace, Jamie is older than he is.

Jamie is perfect for Jace! He's a bit too thin for the role but at least he appreciates the character. Jamie has such an amazing personality and his laugh? My god it's so infectious. He's a beautiful person. Alex? 5-6 years ago I wanted him to play Jace but that was before I knew the kind of person he was. He's a arrogant piece of shit. He may have the looks but he's rotten on the inside. Every person he's worked with hates him. Channing Tatum hates his guts. Everyone who knows him long enough does. He turned down roles bc he believed he deserved to be payed more.
I don't know about you, but I don't want someone like that portraying characters I love and admire. And sometimes it's just not about looks x
*Clears throat* I don't know who this Alex is, but if you're talking about Alec, than plz don't spell my favorite characters name wrong (Magnus is a close second)
I'm pretty sure they were talking about Alex Pettyfer, not Alec. And even if they were talking about Alec, it's okay if they messed up lol, I'm sure they would't have misspelled his name on purpose.
