This has always been a favorite of mine and it got me into webcomics. It has changed a lot since the beginning, not just in artistic quality but also in storytelling. The latter is more mature but I miss some of the zanier aspects of it. Above all, Jeph Jacques always gets the emotions right for his characters.

QC is the first webcomic I ever read and I still keep up with it. It has definitely changed over time. It's hard to believe that the first comic and the latest one are from the same person.

Oh yeah. I guess he redid the early artwork for the books but still...looking at that stuff is surreal. That is about how good I can draw, haha, so maybe there is hope for me. After reading comics, I'd like to write them too.

Did anyone else hear what happened to Jeph? He stabbed his own hand and I'm under the impression that he did it on purpose O.o That guy must be really stressed out. I hope he's okay...

I saw that too. :( A large amount of alcohol was also involved. He made it sound like it's been building for a while, but also like he's doing better and going to address whatever the problem is going forward. I really hope he's able to get things straightened out...

For those who haven't seen it, here's what he posted last thurs after missing wed's comic:

"Basically what happened yesterday is i drank an entire bottle of whiskey, stabbed myself in the hand (not my drawing hand), had some kind of delirious breakdown in the hospital, got stitched up and sent back home.

Today I go to see the hand surgeon about my hand and a therapist about my emotions.

I guess something like this was bound to happen eventually. The monsters finally caught up. But at least I am ok. I feel very, very bad about all of this and would really like to apologize. I'm sorry.

There will be some guest comics for a few days. Thank you again for your patience."

Jeph seems to be back in the swing of things. QC is updating regularly and he had posted quick "thank you"s for concern and support here and there the last few weeks. Hope things stay upward bound for him.

Relating to the comic, the recent stuff (particularly Emily's party) has been fantastic.

Anyone else reading lately? It's really hitting on all cylinders. The current stuff with Martin going to his dad's wedding with Claire has been hilarious. :)
