He's the first person that came to my mind, I always got so angry about that, but I think his death was important in that cyclical nature of Edward Lupin being Harry in the sense that he had no parents but 'metaphorical family' instead of like the Weasley's had with Harry. But otherwise, I totally agree.

Yes he did, he died in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows during the Battle of Hogwarts.
Jk Rowling said this on Twitter because everyone was asking why she killed Fred. "Today I would just like to say: I'm really sorry about Fred. *Bows head in acceptance of your reasonable ire*"

But if we were to talk about Harry’s sake, I would have to say Sirius or Lupin. After his parents death, these two were the only possible NICE (@ the dursleys -_-) guardians he could have lived with. Harry finally had hope he would finally have a family after the war, but that was taken from him as Well. I do wish he could have lived with one of them, but he does have the weasleys, so I would have to probably go with saving Fred instead .

Fred for obvious reasons, he was so young & happy & had his whole life ahead of him. Plus the loss for George must be nearly unbearable.
Sirius because almost half his life was stolen from him & when he finally breaks free & wants to be a father to Harry, he gets killed. Also for Harry's sake. He gets brief moments of hope that he'll get have a family & someone who cares about & loves him. This isn't to say that the Weasley's aren't his family, just that it would be different with Sirius.
Lupin because he finally found happiness after a really hard life. & also for Teddy's sake, who has to grow up without parents. But thankfully he was surrounded by those who loved & cared for him. Lupin was also Harry's last real connection to his parents.
I do agree with others in that I would love to see how things would have changed for Snape if he had lived. & he was incredibly brave (for very selfish reasons), but that doesn't change the fact that he was also a huge bully to children.

so fred is the other half of george. he deserved to live, as did the rest, but still.
at least in the end, all the marauders are TOGETHER…y’know? like all alive or all dead.

I could cope with others' death, but I could never come to terms with Sirius dying. Every time I read Order of Phoenix, I skip the battle in Death Chamber.
Sirius deserved to live and Harry deserved one fatherly figure.
And next in line would be Snape. I would have loved to see how his relation with Harry flourished.
If it were simply a question of opinion, I would say Severus Snape and Sirius Black. But this question needs to be approached in a matter-of-fact way, in which I would say Remus Lupin, because he has a son that needs raising. But not Dumbledore. I don't like him.

I totally agree!!!
