Judaism is not only a religion but a culture as well. Once you're a Jew, born into it or converted, you're always a Jew. You can be a Mormon Jew, Catholic Jew, or Atheist Jew, but you'll always be Jewish, half Jewish, quarter Jewish, whatever. They're pretty much their own race. That's why, in world war two, people in Germany burned their genealogy, because if it were found out that they were part Jew, they'd be treated just like a full Jew. That's why it was such a big deal to find out Hitler's grandmother was Jewish; he would have been counted as a Jew as well.

Just thought I'd set the facts straight. It's only judaism that believes this once you're in the religion you're part of it forever, as far as I know. But, yes, your nephew I'd and always will be Jewish. Maybe not the religion, but the culture. (:
