oh man..! Well, Let me tell you about Hetalia..!All the nations of the world are personified as (mostly) cute guys with a couple girls. Their characters are based off of how the country generally acts in real life; like stereotypes and such. For example:
America is loud, loves aliens, eating, and being 'the hero'. He annoys England to no end and always wants to be the leader or the allies.
England is a cynical gentleman who sees ghosts and faries; He is a horrible cook and believe strongly in the occult.
France is lovey-dovey and a perveted romantic. He and England hate eachother.
Russia is tall and intimidating. He is scary and cruel but has awkward and childlike tendencies while insisting everyone 'become one with Mother Russia'
Japan is quiet and reserved. He does not like physical contact or speaking offensively.
Germany is strict and standoffish. He is best friends with Italy but is always confused about his silly actions.
Italy is the main character. He is fun and lighthearted with a love for pasta, pizza, and naps.
Other characters include Greece, Rome, China, Canada, Cuba, Iceland, Sweden, Finland, Australia, Taiwan Switzerland, Liectenstine, Austria, Turkey, Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, South Italy, Spain, Sealand, Prussia Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Thailand, Hungary, Norway, Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium, and many more.
It takes place in current time as well as historical dates in History. There are four seasons, an each episode is abut 5 minutes long.
It's also a webcomic, and three books :)

it' rated MA. My parents both watched the whole series and deemed it appropriate. I suspect its because of language and mild racism. The only time they drop a really bad word is once during i think episode 7.
It's a pretty light comedy with little violence and stuff like that though.

Yeah, it's just a comedy. There's only a couple sad scenes (revolutionary war) but even those have comic relief in the same episode! I'd suggest it to almost anyone!!:)
