Do you have a favourite way you like to read? Outside, inside. Nestled on a chair etc.

do you have a favourite position that you like to read in? On the bed on your tummy or side. Couch -draped all over it.

do you save books to read at specific times?long trip coming up or just during lunch break at work or school.

I like to read books but i also read on my Tablet pc.
curled up on the couch under a blanket.
i tried to read next to the pool on holidays once but i found it very uncomfortable. i also save books to read on the train.

Marie (acheron1981) | 38 comments I like to read curled up on the sofa too.with a cup of coffee. I read that much that I don't keep books to read at certain times but if I'm reading a series I have to read them in order, I've read some comments about people reading book 3 for example then the others I really can't do that.

message 3: by Terab (new)

Terab (fiddylover) I like to curl up on my leather chair in my living room next to a window. I also like to eat candy and drink water while I'm reading but I've been trying to cut back on the candy!! LOL!

message 4: by Jenelle (new)

Jenelle I like to read anywhere, everywhere, and at any time of day. If I'm REALLY into a book, I try to save it for times when I have a good chunk of time to read (I really dislike reading for only 5-15 minutes at a time, and if that's all the time I have I will save my reading for later when I have more time to devote to it).

Icy-Cobwebs-In-Space (readingreindeerproximacentauri) I read anywhere, anytime, and have since tiny childhood. As a young married adult, I sat outside (or in a corner) absorbed in a book instead of socialising with in-laws.:) Now I stay in my room and read at the desk (if I'm in a chapter-a-day read and needing the laptop to make notes); or me and my Kindle Fire, or me and a print book, are propped up on the bed reading...

I like to read just before laying down for the night.I prefer the book itself to kindle or any other form.

I have a few friends with a kindle. And they love it. I have always gone for the e reader option.
I cannot read in bed....I wouldn't get to sleep.
I have been known to save books for the train travel into work.
Main thing is I have to be comfy when I read.
When I'm at my boyfriends house I have a chair...I have claimed it mine and it is sooo comfy. I do equal amounts of TV watching reading and napping( not necessarily in that order). But it I have to curled up.
However the times I have read on the couch at home , my feet stray to the headrest bit, or the armrest...whichever is more comfy for me but other people might think I'm weird!

message 8: by Tammy (new)

Tammy (tammyo73) | 66 comments Anywhere any chance I get. Bad habit is when i read while I walk into a different room. It can be dangerous lol. I have gone almost totally ereading so i have all my books with me and can just catch a few pages anywhere i am. :)

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

I have to have some kind of noise in the room when I read,so I keep the television going.
Do save you books after you read them Adele?

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

Do save your books too,tammy?

message 11: by Brandy Blackerby (new)

Brandy Blackerby | 2 comments I am like most of these other people as well :) I like to read anywhere I can if im really in to a series i start from the beginning & read book 1 first. If its a really good book I do have a hard time putting it down!! READING IS DEFINITELY MY ESCAPE & I love it!!! :)

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

Where do you buy your books?book clubs?

message 13: by Adele, Moderator (new)

Adele (mooturtil) | 1749 comments Mod
Yep, all my books are saved on my tablet PC. I get them mainly from amazon( I have a beaut kindle app). But there are a few free sites like breathlesspress.com and allromanceebooks.com that you can get legitimate free books.
Goodreads also has an online e reading /downloading system.
And because my system is android I can buy books off Google play( formerly android market). But I understand you can buy them from I tunes as well.
Majority of the sites that sell books, you may find they do e books as well. So shop around.
But i love to buy the physical copy of a book if I have the finances.
If not it's off to the library for me! I try not to read there as they don't have comfy chairs!
I'm very similar to you brandy, when I come back from the library I usually try to get the whole set start to finish.I have to read it or else I go crazy!

When n I read on the train I have my earphones on with my favourite tunes on. I really don't like to be disturbed on the train.

My best friend runs a bath and reads in the bath....personally I'd be terrified of getting the pages wet....especially if it is from the library!

message 14: by Janie (new)

Janie (janiecld55) | 8 comments I can read anywhere anytime. I carry a book with everywhere. I started doing the a few years ago when they were working on the roads where I lived. Sometimes I would have to waite a half hour or more for the roads to clear as they were blasting, so I would read while waiting. So now I take one to the Dr. office with me, or work, out to eat. About the only place I have not taken a book was when my neice was giving birth. I was her coach. lol

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks Adele for your response to my question.
Jamie,I notice when I take my mother to her appointments there is alot people there with their books(especially women).I tried doing this but find myself easily distracted.
Starting reading several years ago when I was a security guard at local company.I started mostly to help me from falling a asleep and now all I want to do is read.

message 16: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (coachjen) I read mostly in bed at night. Love my kindle app on my phone it doesn't bother hubby as much as the light used to. If I started a series in paperback or hard cover I have to finish them that way but most I'd my new books are ebooks. So with the phone I can read anytime anywhere.

This is good.
I also googled comfortable reading positions. Yeah I was bored! But it was interesting.

message 18: by Emily (new)

Emily | 1 comments I read where ever i can; under the desk at school, in the library curled up in a comfy chair, lying down in my bed (anytime of the day, mostly at night before bed) and on the bus listing to loud music (so i won't be interrupted by anyone). I read using hard copies (good old books), on my Ipod and on my lab top. :)

message 19: by Nicki (new)

Nicki Markus (nickijmarkus) I love to read in bed, but I also like to sit on the sofa with my husband, both of us reading a book and a mug of hot chocolate within easy reach.

message 22: by Jill (new)

Jill | 5 comments I like to read on my couch or outside, It has to be a regular old print book. I don't usually eat while I'm reading. I also prefer to read a series from begining to end I like to know what the whole story is.

message 23: by Madeleine (new)

Madeleine (dramaqueenmaddie13) | 3 comments I just like to sit on my bed, leaning against my pillow, reading. It's the most comfortable for me.

message 24: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa | 1 comments I read anywhere and everywhere I can. I get the most reading done either in bed before bed, that is if the book doesn't keep me up, or while at the plasma center. I read on my Nook, so it stays in my purse when I leave the house. I'll read in line at the grocery store, at the beauty shop, sittling in line in the car at the bank. Give me a book and I'll find the time and place to read it.

Vanessa wrote: "I read anywhere and everywhere I can. ..."

You're in good company. I've always felt that way myself. Last night, I read the first chapter of Education of a Wandering Man by Louis L'Amour, an autobiography of his education, & he says the same thing. I forget the exact number, but I think he said he read 50 books one year just waiting for the dentist, riding in public transportation, & such things. His point being, there is no excuse for not reading. We do have time.

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

Wow Horace that is alot of books to read.Be haappy if I get 5 in,lol.Seems like a interesting book though, will to keep it in mind.

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

I've been reading about 150 books a year most of my life & have a fairly busy life. We do watch an hour or so of TV daily, too. Still, in my lifetime, I probably won't read 1% of the books that were published this year. So little time, so many books!
;-)

message 28: by Brandy (new)

Brandy Nacole (brandynacole) Well since getting my Kindle Fire and downloading the app on my Iphone, I find myself reading anywhere. My life is pretty scattered so I try catching a few pages whenever I can. My all time favorite place to read tho is in my comfy plush porch chair, especially when its raining or cloudy. In the winter, I guess in my recliner by the window.

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

Thinking that maybe I should extend some of my reading time into my half hour lunch period.Find when I read little else matters.

message 30: by Wendy (last edited Aug 24, 2012 08:44AM) (new)

message 35: by Chris (new)

Chris (rawr-reads) | 2 comments I read.... EVERYWHERE! I lie in bed and read, I read on my pc, I read waiting for the stop-light to change. With the advent of e-books its made my reading so simple. If I forget my book, oh no worries its on my phone and I can sync to where I left off... Makes my life super simple and makes me read even more than I already used to do.

I'm discovering the joys of my book seat. its like a bean bag for your books to lean on( kinda like a book stand except it's squishy). with my tablet PC recently, I read in bed all snuggled up. but as it is summer here I am going to find a new reading spot...that isn't so heated!

message 47: by Wendy (last edited Jun 16, 2013 09:39PM) (new)

Wendy (WENDY3636) | 15 comments I usually love to read in my bed, but once and a while I would go out to my living room and curl up in our love seat and just read while I have the windows and door open to let the light and fresh breeze in.

message 48: by Karen (new)

Karen (kalopez91) | 1 comments I really like reading on the train, especially long train rides. If it's noisy I'll put in my earphones and quietly play some music that is with the tone of the book, if that makes sense.

I also love reading curled up on a sofa rugged up when it's winter.
When I read in bed, it can get a bit uncomfortable for me. My hands are exposed so they get very cold. Sometimes they get tired from holding the book up so long, so I gather all my pillows to make a back rest. Then it starts to get uncomfortable. I still do it though!

Also reading outside surrounded by fresh air, however cliche that may sound, is fantastic.

message 49: by Brittney (new)

Brittney (BrittneyM) | 1 comments I like to read cuddled up on the couch or in my bed. Sometimes I read laying on my tummy wit ha pile of pillows nestled underneath my arms

message 50: by Missyb (new)

Missyb | 39 comments Anywhere I can sit, or lay down, I read. I had surgery back in December, and I kept setting my Nook down on the one incision when I was lying down reading.
