Heather My grandparents live in Harrison, MI! Can't wait to read a book set there!

Paula-O I have read this story and though I dont think it as good as the first couple of Jody's books it still has some things to learn from it and she spins a good yarn about the characters at the lumber camps..

Colletta Miller I enjoyed this book. How neat that your grandparents live there! I guess it was a pretty rough place when it started out.

Yes, it wasn't as good as Jody's first two books but for Michiganders the history and location is awesome.

Noela I loved this story and put it up there with my all-time favorites. Probably because it was so stirring, yet shocking and impacting. The location of the logging camps in Michigan - descriptive and interesting!

You may also like Jody's other two books, The Preacher's Bride and The Doctor's Lady. Very good.

Yes I've read those two books - also great stories.. Oh and A Noble Groom which is set in Forestville, Michigan. That was a top favorite too! Can't wait for Jody's next one. :)

You're one up on me! Haven't read A Noble Groom. Is it purely fiction or based on someone's life?

No, not based on anyone in particular but on German immigrants to Michigan where they took up farming on harsh land to pay it off and hopefully own it one day. I'll be working on a review for this one soon. :)
