Lucky woman! It's so nice to share intrests with significant others... Eh...... **makes dreamy eyes**
Well, glad to have you! It's always nice to hear a man's perspective on these novels. I hope I'll be seeing you around.
Question for the guy in the group....do the steamy scenes turn you on like they turn us woman on?Just wondering. My husband is almost done with the Sookie Stackhouse series and he hasn't mentioned a thing, but he seems more touchy-feely lately (no complaints here!!) LoL
LOL! To answer your question, YES! What got me started reading romance in the first place was picking a book up at my sister in law's about two years ago. My fishing trip was rained out and I was stuck inside for the day. Grabbing a book off of a stack in the guest room, a Harlequin Blaze, I read it cover to cover that afternoon. Wow! I knew then why so many people read romance.
My wife and I have read books together since she moved in with me in college (20 years ago). The books we read have changed, but she claims to love to hear my voice as we explore a story together. We generally keep a book on the headboard for 'special reading'. My wife particularly likes that I often read with an accent and pitch changes to make the characters different.
I haven't read the Sookie Stackhouse books yet, but I can recommend some full fledged erotica if that interests you. Currently we are reading Blush by Opal Carew.
Hello!
I'm new to the group and I'm from the Philippines. ;)

I think like most of the people here I read alot of books and my friends don't, so it's a happy surprise that I found this place! It's kind of like when you find a new series that you absolutely adore but then get annoyed that you didnt find it sooner... :)
LOL...we know what you mean, Ariana. Most of us here are GR addicts...so if you like books and like talking about it...you are in the right place.
I visited New Orleans earlier this year and got to do all the touristy things there but definitely want to go back to visit other parts of Louisiana. I had such a great time :) I did have to laugh, though, locals kept telling me how cold it was and I'd need a jacket (63 degrees) but here in NZ that's about normal.
Saying hi from NSW Australia!
Iowa. :)(but I've lived in New York, Florida, Philadelphia, Phoenix, and spent a good deal of time in Sweden)

Hi Ya'll! So cool to see where everyone's at and where they've been. Many more from AU and NZ than I would've guessed, although I don't know why exactly. The world is so much smaller now with the internet. I love it! :)I'm currently in Canberra, Australia, at least until early 2010. Then we're off to Okinawa, Japan.
I'm a Marine Wife and we've lived in Moldova (E. Europe between Romania & Ukraine - LOVED it there!), Hawaii (where I left my heart and hope to retire!), California and Virginia. I'm originally from VA.

Anyways, i'm a Sydney, Australia resident and love it.
I wonder if someone with time and inclination would make a Google world map with push-pins where everyone is located. I've seen this done for a few message boards I frequent (not on GR).*It should be noted that I'm not volunteering to undertake this venture. I have not the time, talent, or desire to do so. Just thought it would be interesting to see.
Something like that can be done @ Where I've Been. It allows you to post comments, as well, which could be used to note the # of members living there, etc. I'm not sure if that one has HTML to post on other sites, although it's interactive with Facebook. Another site Big Huge Labs' Map Maker does offer HTML for posting to other sites, but it doesn't allow for notes, just clicking on states (if USA view) or countries (if world view) to highlight "where you've been". Those are just the ones I'm aware of, but I'd bet there are others out there.:)
