Mark Burns (TheFailedPhilosopher) | 112 comments Just because...I haven't read:

Ship of Magic
or
Night of Knives

Which of those should I read?

message 5: by Robert (new)

Robert Wright (rhwright) | 130 comments I think it may be American Gods.

I love Gaiman. I've had this as an ARC for over 10 years now. How time flies and the TBR pile grows! Now I have the ebook 10th Anniversary edition. (Who could resist at $2.99?)

But keep the votes coming, and the reasons. I still have to tackle these in some sort of order.

colleen the convivial curmudgeon (blackrose13) Well, as for reasons, I haven't read most of the ones on your list and of those I have read, I only really liked 'American Gods'. ;)

Maggie K | 730 comments and you should read Gardens of the Moon before Night of Knives. and GotM is the best of the list anyway!

Robert Wright (rhwright) | 130 comments Well, they'll all get read... eventually. It's just a matter of when. I'm a fairly swift reader when I dedicate myself to one book.

I have the bad habit of juggling multiples at a time, though. (See my "currently reading" shelf!)

Lee (kiwifirst) If you read Gardens of the Moon you can forget reading anything else this year. You'll likely be drawn into the Malazan world and not surface until you have finished 14 books.

Well, that is what happened to me.

Jim (foxkilo4) You'll likely be drawn into the Malazan world and not surface until you have finished 14 books.

and re-read them because now you can understand the 1st one

Aloha | 940 comments The Malazan series is next on my fantasy list to read, whenever I get around to reading fantasy. I don't read much fantasy because I often find them not complicated or intriguing enough. I heard The Malazan world is complex. I like complex.

American Gods is a very enjoyable read. I love Gaiman's storytelling.

Well, since I'm 46 out of 85 on my goal for this year so far, I might just do it. (Been thinking of revising that goal anyhow...)

At least the first 2. I don't know if I want to spring $10 a pop for the ones after that right now. $7.99, maybe, but even that's pushing it. I'm not a rich man.

Or I need to start selling off the old paperbacks to pay for new books.

Dave Wood (pocket7976) I'd go for American Gods personally - read it when it was first published has it really been 10 years?

2 of my least favourite books in this list.

American Gods i couldnt even finish.. i think the 5th dream sequence within 200 pages put me off.

Name of the Wind i did finish but i found i hated the main character.. he was wonderful at everything but rarely used his skills when needed. Its a very odd book that doesnt really go anywhere,
