They were fake leaves however.
Fake--->Face.Fake leaves with little smiley faces drawn on them.
Mace--->Mice.The helpless villagers trembled like apoplectic mice.
((Felt like using the word apoplectic, and so the mice suffer from seizures. XD))
Mice--->DiceThen he made them dice his carrots.
Dice---->Rice.Once the carrots were diced, he made them cook rice.

No one knew his secret vice.
Vice--->Vise. His secret vice was that he liked to construct vises.

Which would turn evil and rise.
Rise ---> RiteBut not before preforming some ceremonial rites...

Which would bite.

Then he decided to fly a kite.

It was a mite bit tinny.

Then he got a mike and announced the news.
Mike--->Mile.Then he went and jogged a mile.

After he ran, he bought a tile.
Tile--->Vile.But he found this tile to be very vile.

So he decided to buy a vase.

It was part of a case.

Then it turned to a cake.

He couldn't make heads or tails of it.
Make--->Bake.So he decided to bake his own cake.

So he decided to take some sugar.
Take--->Tale.This would make an epic tale.

However, he turned pale when he saw the sugar.
Pale--->Sale.He would have to search for better sugar on-sale.

He found a safe with lots of sugar on sale.
Safe--->Cafe. He took the sugar to a nearby cafe.

He saw a guy wearing a cape.
Cape---->Cope.He had no idea how he could possibly cope with such a sight.

Possibly with lots of rope.

He decided to play the role of a villan.
Mod
He was the sole victim of the shoe disaster in which the soles of the shoes were worn off.

He climbed up a pole and jumped.

It was his role to do something.
Mod
He then found a rope and tried to capture the bad guy.

Unfortunately, the bad guy was the pope.

So he decided to poke him.

He bought him a coke instead.

With a cake on the bottom.

It was a fake cake.
Mod
It was shaped like a lake.

It was lame.
Mod
But then he was granted fame.

It was tame.
Tape--->Type.He could type letters onto the tape.
Pope--->Pipe.His mighty weapon was a metal pipe.
Pipe--->Pile.He had gotten his weapon from a pile of items taken out to be recycled.
Maybe after this walk, he would go and rake the leaves.
