Karina rolled her eyes,"Don't pretend you didn't like me last year,"She teased him. She had always teased him about that last year even though she knew it wasn't true well she thought it wasn't true. It was just fun to bother or annoy him.

Kaden raised his eyebrows comically. His eyes suggested something like: Your delusional. "I see how mature you've gotten." he remarked, running a hand through her hair. "Sorry Karina. The world may never know who I like. Even if it was you. Which is highly improbable."
Karina laughed,"And I still see you're as stubborn as ever on not wanting to tell me. Besides you know it's fun for me to bother you." She smiled at him,"And you should be used to it by now. But don't worry I'm planning to bother Riley this summer."
Kaden's mouth dropped open in surprise. "Uhmm...I'm not so sure that's a good idea." he said hesitantly, biting his lip. "He may be an Angel or what ever...but he's puh-retty powerful with that compulsion thing. I've seen him do it."
"I know,"Karina told him smiling. "e tried it today but since I wasn't close or something it wasn't all that effective. And it's not like I'll push him like I did you. Besides it's cute to see his angry face, he looks like a little child throwing a tantrum."
Kaden shook his head. "He's easily offended. You should probably just leave him alone Karina. He has this weird thing about girls...sometimes he avoids the lot of them. Well...I mean he's obviously not gay. But something happened to him, I think. He doesn't...socialize well with anything beyond friendship. And even that is hard." he said, grimacing slightly. Him and Riley were pretty good friends, they had the same sort of sarcastic wit--despite stark difference in species.
"Oh,I'm not going to bother him about liking me. I'm going to get him a s my real friend no matter how long it takes," Karina smiled ."Besides I know when to back off and when to stop alight?"
Good luck with that. he thought, rolling his eyes. He somehow doubted she knew how far to push things, since she had just said 'no matter how long it takes'. Which obviously meant Riley had already rejected her. "Have fun then. Try not to get sent to hell." he retorted, smirking down at her.
Angel bit her lip, not wanting to interrupt again or say anything that might come off as rude. Accidentally listening to their conversation, her inner saint took over. "Please don't say things like that, Kaden." She mentally kicked herself for saying something, as well as being a little too angelic for other people's liking.
Karina raised an eyebrow at her and stifled a giggle. She reminded her of a little innocent girl. "Well I got to go,so see all of you later. And I won't get sent to hell. He's a angel,he can't do it! Or I hope he can't!Bye!" With that she bounded off.
Angel squeaked and turned to Kaden. "I'm so, so so so sorry! Do you think I chased her off? I shouldn't have said anything. I talk too much, right?" She said quickly, finishing in about four seconds. She gnawed on her nail; a habit she'd picked up recently.
Kaden stood there for another second, he was tempted to say yes-but refrained. "Nah. Maybe she was afraid i'd send her to hell." he remarked, using the word on purpose. He was a Demon, and this angel, despite her counselor status wasn't about to change his personality.
Angel squeaked again and slapped Kaden's bicep in a soft yet serious way. "Don't say that! Did I just hit you? Does it hurt? I'm really sorry! Do we need to go to the infirmary?" She looked up at him with big blue eyes, concern dabbing the edges of her pupils. Once her angel side made a breakthrough, it was hard to push it back in.
Kaden flinched away from her. His hand did kind of burn him. The same thing would probably happen if he touched her. It happened with Riley sometimes when the shadows were around him, kind of like they were now. It wasn't his fault people were continually putting him in bad moods. "No." he replied, imploringly. This girl really wasn't bright. How had she become a counselor. He felt like talking to her had just dropped his IQ ten points.
Angel took a deep breath and composed herself. "Sorry. Demons make me nervous. I apologize for going all angel on you." She laughed. Can't you say something intelligent for once? She said herself. "So...Ever heard of Schrodinger's Cat?" She asked, in an attempt to sound smart. In truth, she got pretty good grades, but she always acted like a klutz around other people.
Kaden's eyes widened, and he took a step back. "No, I can't say I have." he remarked, shaking his head. Was she crazy? What the heck was Shalejhkdfs Cat? Was that supposed to be some sexual code? He took another step, "I'll see you 'round. Gotta' go...do something." he said, completely turning and disappearing in the distance.
Angel stood there, dumbfounded. Why had Kaden left? Schrodinger's Cat was just a simple science theory. This was why Angel never acted smart. She stood there, utterly confused, with the same look on her face that she had when he left.
