Emma
question
Emma V/s Elizabeth Bennet?

Was just wondering what would happen if these two characters were to cross each others path? Any thoughts
What an interesting idea to ponder... Elizabeth is not nearly as rich as Emma (well until she marries Mr Darcy of course)but I can't see her letting Emma take her under her wing and patronise her the way she does Harriet. I can imagine Elizabeth returning from a visit to Emma and making fun of her immaturity in conversation with Jane, who would say,'Oh Lizzie!'
I think if they met before the end of their novels it would be a lot like Joy said. I also think that Emma would feel pretty similarly toward Elizabeth as she did toward Jane. She wouldn't like that Elizabeth is witty and attractive.
If they met at the end of their novels, I agree that they would get along pretty well. If Elizabeth went to Emma, I think they would probably bond quite a bit over their shared dislike of Mrs. Elton. If Emma went into Pride and Prejudice, I think she'd be super excited about all the new socializing opportunities. I think knowing the Bennets would help a lot with any remaining classism, because I think Emma would love spending time with Mr. Bennet.

Elizabeth would see right through Emma and cleverly get her to see her errors in judgment.
Elizabeth would definitely see right through Emma, before they married Mr. Darcy and Mr. Knightly. After their marriages, though, with Elizabeth a little mellowed, and Emma a little more controlled, I think they could find common ground.
I think Elizabeth would treat Emma as she does one of her younger sisters, because Emma can be willful, and not very insightful! Because Emma has shown an ability to learn and grow, I think they would become very fond of each other, at the end of their story.
Why compare characters they are completely different character and completely different live style and story I know it really hard because is by the same English novelist whose works of romantic fiction Jane Austin I think with Emma she was trying to the other side of the society of each Social group because Jane was vary abstinent of people which thought a English teacher once had said I forgotten his name had said she may saw known someone like Emma and she was inspired by it and that became Emma was using some other people expiries and Elizabeth could possibility base on her self in her novel Jane Austin was vary abstinent of people of event of the world around her she wrote what had see heard and known I think that way it so imported to read her novel
Interesting thought...
I kinda agree with Joy & Vanessa. If their stories were somehow combined, I think that Emma & Elizabeth would end up becoming very good friends. I doubt that they would start out that way, though.

It probably depends on which point in each novel. By the end of both their respective novels, I think they'd be friends. At the beginning, they'd probably kill each other. ^^
