I read every single year for a good 15 or 20 years (yes, I'm dating myself). My books fell apart, pages fell out. Spines fell off. I didn't care. I finally bought a new one but it was a hard cover with all 3 books in it and was too heavy to hold and read comfortably. By then the movies came out. So now I do marathon watching of the extended versions. About 15 or 16 hours if I have a free weekend or maybe a movie a weekend.
