WOOT WOOT Kelly! Well done!
WOOT WOOT Kelly! Well done!

November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo for short) and it's an actual organization that does a lot for a lot of people. One thing that you can do is sign up to participate in is the NaNoWriMo challenge. In which your goal is to write 50,000 words between November 1st thru 30th. And I decided to take part this year.
As of yesterday (day 19) I was at just over 103,000 words for the month.
I've been busy, and it has taken time away from a lot (my blog and goodreads included) and I have missed everyone greatly! My goal is to finish this draft by the end of November and then I will be back in full swing, I promise!
There. I said it. And I'm not gonna delete this post. So that's my woot woot moment of the month.
Caitlin!!! You should absolutely be participating as your reviews are always incredible!!
Sooo excited for you that not only did you blow away the 50K words, you'll have a draft at the end!
Marissa Meyer wrote Cinder during NoNoWriMo and look how that turned out!!
What an achievement!! Big ole WOOT WOOT!

Massive massive accomplishment Caitlin! I know how hard it is to set and maintain that kind of a pace as I usually write a novel in 21 days, and they're generally between 90k and 100k words. So your pace was insane!! Good luck finishing up and congrats so far!

Poor, poor Darryl :( So we woke up this morning to the coldest morning yet this season, it was right around 0 degrees, and our water pipes froze, so no running water. It took a little while, but we finally got the pipes thawed out. Then Darryl realized his truck wouldn't start--and spend all afternoon working on it in the COLD to no luck at all. Really sucks, because tomorrow is his birthday. I felt so bad for him!
BUT, a Woot, woot now--today I got my Christmas present from work--a 10 lb ham!! Going to make it tomorrow for Darryl's bday, so that will make him happy! WOOT! I haven't had home baked ham for so long...

Aww... That would suck! Glad Darryl gets a grand birthday dinner though!! Tell him happy bday from his wife's GRBFF!! ;-)
Thanks, Tracy! I tried to help as much as possible, but there's only so much I can do--I also had to work today :(
Karen, I told him, and it made him smile, to YAY!!
WOOT, WOOT, Ginny--its so awesome when an author notices their fans and says something personally! It always puts me on cloud 9!!

I almost forgot, but I did tell him Happy Birthday, that made him smile, and the ham made him smile even bigger!! He ended up having a pretty good birthday!
If you guys remember that book I was waiting for from B&N? Well, Darryl called up B&N and yelled at them until they reshipped me a new book (it totally got lost in the post office somewhere) And if FINALLY arrived yesterday!! The Collector's edition of The Book Thief, and its beautiful :) I'll post pics on my Instagram/Facebook/Tumblr/Twitter!

I KNOW IT!!! At one time (about 15 years ago I think) I had read everything he ever wrote, but then I got behind :( A new co-worker at work is also a huge Dean Koontz fan, we spent a long time talking about his books (when we should have been working--oops!)

LOL I used to have a goal to read everything of his, but I don't think I'll ever make it! But I've read A LOT of his stuff :)
THat was my goal, too--maybe after he dies--I don't mean that in a bad way, but he's older than myself so hopefully I'll outlive him, and then can read all his books! I do want him to keep writing books, though, can you imagine this world without Dean Koontz??? Crazy!

Can you guys help me make her feel at home?

I'm really excited about this one. It is fully fledged YA, actually written with that in mind. I've been reading it through today and just feel a sense of giddiness that this story was absolutely nowhere two weeks ago. Not even an outline.
Lol, Jenny. I hope Dean Koontz's around for a lot longer, too. One of my favorite authors, Robert Jordan, didn't live to finish his series. Luckily, he had time to share his notes and vision with another author who finished it for him. Now I have another favorite author. It is strange reading his books again, now that I know he's gone, kind of sad. It's almost like a tribute.
I'm so THRILLED, we have had 39 readers sign up for my Reading Cram read-a-thon!!
Starts in a week, anyone can join in, you can even link you Goodreads profile if you don't have a blog :)

Oh man, happy about the first paragraph, sad about the second...that's awful. But I'm glad someone would finish the series!
