I'm so stoked right now, I think I'll really like this job! Its such a relaxing, laid back atmosphere. I talked to several residents yesterday while I was filling out paperwork and waiting, and they had me in stitches laughing!

I'm changing out an old sliding glass door into a 6'x 4' window at my mom's house. Well, not me physically... I did all the sliding glass doors in my house a few years ago (I bought mom the exact same patio home that I have, a couple of streets over). Remodeling anything is hard work when you have a contractor doing all the work. You are incredible for doing it all yourself!

Finished "Water & Storm Country" last night!

Would have been done sooner, but "the great degu round-up" (AKA persuading all four degus to get in a box for me to supervise them while hubby cleaned the cage) took up a fair bit of time, plus day to day things like household chores, working on my own writing projects and spending time with my hubby, the dog and the degus in general needed to be achieved.

It was absolutely fantastic! But then, I wouldn't have expected anything less from David!

I love David's characters; they're always so easy to imagine in to real people. And the world he's created is fantastic!

My favourite part was the ending, because - though I was disappointed to come to it - I think he left it in the perfect place ready for when "The Earth Dwellers" comes out in September.

I don't think Dads get thanked enough for being good dads. It seems society places a lot of expectations on the mothers.

But Dads are irreplaceable! My dad is going to ride to work an hour early on Monday with my mom, so I can use his car :) AND he offered to pay to have my car fixed, within a certain dollar amount of course. So hopefully I should get it back soon!

Its not unexpected, the doctors told her with her kidneys and diabetes she probably only had 3 months to live, and that was a year ago, so she's held on longer than we thought she would! But this will be hard for Darryl, he is definitely a momma's boy!
