Like and like ^^ I finished the Seven Realms a couple months ago and I'm reading right now
which so far is not quite as good as the first, but I cannot judge yet
I am currently reading Mark J. Ferrari's The Book of Joby and John Scalzi's Redshirts (which is absolutely amusing atm for me xD)
I am reading "Barrayar , by Lois McMaster Bujold"Just finished Shard's of Honor, the writing is superb. Bujold is my new favorite author.
This thread is making me cry. So many good books and so little time!
I just started Storm Front by Jim Butcher. It's not the kind of thing I normally read but it sounded interesting and every one I talk to seems to love it.
I'm also rereading the Light Fantastic by Terry Pratchett and started Swamp Thing: Love and Death.

I am currently reading American Born Chinese and Little White Duck. Has anyone read these!? I am covering them in my blog http://agraphiclens.wordpress.com/ check them out!
I'm bingeing on beta-reading!
Love the Light Fantastic though not as much as 'Wyrd Sisters' and 'Mort'. Death is a marvellous character.

Just started reading Unseen Academicals by Terry Pratchett as I recently discovered it in my to read pile
I just finished re-reading Deborah Harkness' A Discovery of Witches so I'm now on to the second volume of the trilogy, Shadow of Night =D
I just finished Thieftaker and Mistborn: The Final Empire and I'm on Libriomancer and I'm loving all three.
Okay, now I'm onto:
It's actually this month's read for the pulp fiction/hard crime group I'm a part of, but it's a blend of sci-fi and a detective story.
I am absolutely loving it!
I'm rereading the Discworld series and am on the Light Fantastic. My goal is to read the entire series in one year.
39 books in 12 months. It's not going well...

I reread
this week and I'm still reeling from it. What a great freaking book.Manette wrote: "I'm rereading the Discworld series and am on the Light Fantastic. My goal is to read the entire series in one year.
That's awesome, best of luck! I tried to do a full reread of Discworld once, but I only got 5-6 books in before getting distracted :( Maybe I should work that into my reading challenge this year, hmm.
Finished Unaccustomed Earth and it just might be the greatest book I've ever read. Gah! All the feels! All of them! Reading The Lovely Bones and Green Arrow: Year One now.

Yeah, that's my issue right now. I'm hoping once I start getting into it more and reading some of my favorites it'll get easier.

Years later I read the book and was like, I don't remember the movie being this funny. It wasn't a satire. Then I rewatched the movie and realized it was actually making fun of fairy tales the entire time. I was slightly disappointed.

It was pretty much the same with me: my mom bought it on VHS because I was obsessed with unicorns, so all I really got from it was "Ooh, pretty unicorn." Then when I read the book, I was surprised at how different it was but I liked it a lot more! I haven't seen the movie in a long time though, maybe I should rewatch it like you did.

I highly recommend a rewatch. Especially since you just finished the book.
I am currently reading Hannu Rajaniemi's The Quantum Thief. It's pretty awesome so far, can't wait to read how the story plays out =)
Finished not too long ago:
Not reading a sci-fi book now, but instead reading:
I like sci-fi and hard boiled mysteries pretty equally, and I especially love it when the two merge together (as in Altered Carbon).
Way of the shadows by Brent Weeks (dark fantasy) Fire Baptized by Kenya Wright (semi romance superhuman urban fantasy)
Right now I am reading this comic:STRANGE ADVENTURES #108 (DC Comic) - "The Human Pet of Gorilla Land!"

I am fascinated with bizarre stories. The title and the cover caught my attention.
Here's a teaser:

Just finished "Ex-Heroes" by Peter Cline, and started the second novel in the series, "Ex-Patriots."
In the middle of reading this
I'm loving it, the writing is amazing, can't believe its taken me this long to read it.
I am currently reading Beth Hoffman's Looking for Me and David Anthony Durham's The Sacred Band, the last volume in his Acacia trilogy (about time I got around to it, lol =))
I can't believe I'm reading this again in eight months. Must be good, I never re-read a book that quickly.
Mari wrote: "Right now, I'm reading

"The Batman & Robin series by Morris is awesome! Although, I do admit, I like Dick better as Nightwing :-)
No fantasy or sci-fi books this time around but I am currently reading Ellis Peters' The Holy Thief, D.J. McIntosh's The Book of Stolen Tales and Edward Rutherfurd's London.
The Angelmaker and The Walking Dead, Compendium 1. I can't put The Walking Dead down! The Angelmaker is pretty good. A bit longwinded at times though.
Ray Bradbury's foray into pulp mystery, but written with his quintessential view. Very good, beautiful writing (as always). I'm loving it. But then again, I've never disliked anything the man wrote.
I'm reading the new Neil Gaiman novel,
. Only a few chapters in so can't say much yet, except for that it's very ... Neil.
Birgit wrote: "I'm reading the new Neil Gaiman novel,

Again, no sci-fi or fantasy titles for me atm. I'm still reading Balzac's Cousin Bette but I'm also reading Nina Schuyler's The Translator, Michelle Granas' Zaremba, or Love and the Rule of Law and Kathy Reichs' Déjà Dead (couldn't quite figure out what to read at one point and ended up with 4, lol)Birgit wrote: "I'm reading the new Neil Gaiman novel,
