Lindsey (booksdingle) | 186 comments Just wondering ....if you had to recommend a few books that have stayed with you long after you read them or made you go 'Wow' or that hit you with a really unexpected twist....what would you recommend? I want to read something exciting/memorable!
off the top of my head I would go for 'We Need To Talk About Kevin' Lionel Schriver 'A Kind of Intimacy' Jenn Ashworth and a blast from the past 'Flowers in the Attic' Virginia Andrews

Chris Stanley (christinelstanley) | 206 comments I remember reading The Road, one night in one sitting (except breaks to make more coffee) because I didn't want to put it down. I couldn't stop thinking about the horror of it for weeks. But I don't think that is what you are looking for in a summer read. I recommend The Shadow of the Wind to everyone, it's a book I re-read repeatedly, and you won't forget the "cemtetery of forgotten books"
