Thank you all very much for the positive comments about my book. I shortly start off the school year talking to many secondary school children about the dangers of alcohol and taking unnecessary risks. Many of them read the book and it's great I can point to this website and your comments to show them it's not just a boring academic read. Thank you.

I was fascinated to find this site and I really appreciate you all reading my book. It was a tough decision allowing it to be published again this year. But it has now been read by alot of children who are on the wrong side of the law. Before it was published this year I checked with David Wilson - professor of Criminology at Birmingham University, to find out if prisons had changed since John Murray initially published the book. Unfortunately, he said that although a few had been cosmetically touched up - fundamantally they are exactly the same.
